A strange thing happened. I joined the AACA forum to try and help an elderly family friend find a buyer for his 1932 Buick series 90 model 97. When I went to log in the system recently, it said that I was blocked. I emailed AACA and they said my account had been flagged as "spam" and deleted. This is very strange because everything in my post and correspondence was about cars and nothing was inappropriate. Anyway, I was advised to re-register and here I am. My apologies to those who tried to correspond with me earlier.

An old family friend in upstate NY has an all original Buick Series 90 model 97 in superb condition. He has owned the car for at least 40 years but health concerns has forced him to sell his car collection. This gentleman is very "old school" and does not have a computer or use the internet. That is why I am here. I am also a car collector although my oldest car is a 1957 Thunderbird. I once owned a Packard and at some point would like to own one again.

We are all curious what you will show us !

    Clean and probably fun.

Series 61. This is the entry level Cad that uses the small Buick and Oldsmobile body.

The C pillar is vertical and totally unlike the slanted pillar in the (more expensive) series 62.

I think they did this only in 1950(?)

I am surprised to read that the body is not the same as the series 62.I already thought to buy a series 61 or 62  coupe  body to have parts for my series 1950 series 62 cvt .Sometimes you see a car with already rebuild engine and other things but that will never gets finished because of rust or other problems .So i will have to go to a series 62 in that case. I would do it because i cannot find parts here in Belgium .I don't need any but you never know .

He was a little hesitant to answer my questions via messenger, but he made very clear this is an 11.000 USD car 'only', not a 35.000 USD car. So then the initial 17.000 USD price tag sounds a bit greedy and maybe the typical case where low resolution photos present a car overly nice.  He gave me his phone number and I am going to call him over the weekend. Essentially got no more technical details.....

I would be very carefull , i made the mistake to buy a car because the price went down and not because i liked it a lot .From now on i only buy a car when as they said before when  it speaks to  me .i went to the states several times and came back emptyhanded because i did not find anything that i really liked and could not miss .Today i will go and get a Mercedes 300 1954 that i like a lot and that has been speaking to me since long time .Its gonna be a beautifull day !Not only because the sun is already shining .

For some reason, Belgium and The Netherlands have a lot of really big classic car dealers, and in most cases prices are similar to the US. Plus they have stuff you never see here, like a Ford Comete.

    Always fun to look!

Ford comete : A friend of mine had one that he sold to the US years ago .A year later i was in California and what did i see there at a cars and coffee : That very same dark green comete ! I met the new owner and he told me he bought it from a dealer a few months earlier .
