  1. Really hard to read....Can't enlarge enough to read it. Can you email me a copy? juantejeda@yahoo.com Thanks
  2. I'm kinda lost right now. I am being told that the truck we have, our 27 / 28 DB Four Screen (Paddy Wagon) is not a DB at all. I am being told that it is a Graham Brothers truck. All the info I have shows it to be a DB. All markings, hub caps , radiator cowl emblem, ID plate and everything else I found at the start of the project showed it to be a DB. This was why it was registered as a DB Four Screen Express. I found the serial numbers showed that it had come out of the factory around Oct of 1927, but had been registered as a 28. Just figured that it was first registered when it was actually purchased. I was also told that it had been purchased at Surplus from the U.S. Army, figuring that it came from Camp Cook, Camp Roberts, Camp San Luis or maybe even from the POW camp that was built just north of Goleta, CA., the POW Camp was never populated and this would account for the fact the the truck was not OD green. Anyway, I would like to know that the truck is in fact a DB and not GB. Is there anyway to find out, for sure?
  3. Wow, so much to learn, so little time! Thanks for sharing.
  4. Hello all! I need to get my 6v generator rebuilt. The Armature is a Northeast Electric #39477, Model #LR Type 6334B. Also need the Cutout Relay, 6v and 3 brushes for same. If anyone can tell me who re-builds these old generators I would be very appreciative. Please email me any contacts. juantejeda@yahoo.com Thank you!
  5. May be....But the owner is calling it a 27 or 28 DB.
  6. Hello all, I found a 1928 Flatbed DB, not sure but pretty sure it is a 3/4 ton. Pretty much what I have, only flatbed. It is located in Ventura, CA. It is supposed to be pretty complete, except for the Exhaust manifold, which the owner sold to me for my Four Screen. If any one is interested, if I recall, he is asking around $1,500 for it all. Get hold of me and I will give you the info. No pictures of it, but can probably get some. Juan
  7. Thanks for the info. I had never really thought about how they attached. Let me know if you are successful in your endeavors with adding the rods and post some pics if it works.
  8. Does anyone know if there are Hangers (for the lack of a better term), for the 27/28 DB Four Screen hood. I have seen Fords with both sides of their engine compartment open, displaying both sides of their engines at the same time. Can you do that with DB's? I have looked at mine and don't really see how you do it. Any help out there?
  9. Yes, the number is A795272 and no I don't have that DB Club News for Aug/Sept 20 10. Not sure why it's so confusing. All I know is that t his truck was all original and this is what it is. I am sure that it was registered when it was first titled. The engine, if I recall is a C. Don't know why it has that engine, but it does and it is the original engine, as best as I know. I also don't know why it was not painted OD green, as most all military vehicles were painted, unless it was never meant to go over seas. If they ordered it for the Prisoner of War Camp in Goleta or if was used at the Military Prison at Camp Cook (now Lompoc Federal Prison), they may have kept it the color it came from the factory in. There are many unanswered questions, but it is what it is.
  10. It was n't too bad, just have to go at it slow and be careful. Probably should have taken some pics, but we didn't. Just take your time and it will work out. This was the first time and we were a little worried about screwing it up, but it seems to be working fine, at least for now,
  11. This sure looks like my four screen, only in a Pick-up and it has the two horizontal ribs on the doors. But whatever, mine is registered as a 28 DB because that's what the paperwork showed and CA DMV accepted that. The VIN number verifies that it is a DB and it came off the assembly line in late 27, and could have very well been registered, the first time, in 28. Like I said, I believe it was a US Army vehicle that was surplus and purchased after it did it's military duty. WOuld like to be able to verify that, but I was unable to interview the man that purchased it from military surplus. My info was at least second hand, mostly 3rd hand.
  12. Well he got me alright! As for the switch, I think we got ours working. We finished rebuilding it and it seems to be working fine. Thanks to all of you for your help and input. By the way, I did find a Northeast Company and they do deal in parts, but not the switch, at least as far as I could find........LOL
  13. Yes, I'm sure it is. We just finished rebuilding it today and it seems to be working OK. Thanks for all the input and help!
  14. No problem, I just got done working on the wagon and we were able to get the original re-built and it seems to be working fine. Would still like to have that web page, though.
  15. Here is a picture of the floor boards and dash area of our truck, prior to restoration. You can see where the ID plaque was mounted and also see the right side of the dash where you say the other plaque is supposed to be mounted. I don't see any holes or a plaque.
  16. And no there is no other plaque or rivet holes.
  17. Yes, you are right, mine did come off the assembly line in late 1927, but was registered as a 1928. Don't know why, but the registration slip I had showed it to be registered as a 1928. I do have the plaque, it was mounted on the floorboards on the right side and that is where we placed it during the restoration. Here is a picture of it. Kinda fuzzy, but readable.
  18. Sounds like you have a good source. I am pretty sure that mine is the 6v part #18456 as mine does not show a PARK position and yes I do have the old key, but to tell you the truth I have never looked at it close enough to see if there is anything printed on it. It is a small, funny looking key, so I guess I'll check it. Can you send me the Web page for North East Parts, I would love to see their price book. In the mean time I'll see if I can find them.
  19. This isn't my truck, but it is the same Ignition/Light switch.
  20. Here is a picture of a 1928 DB Pick-up and it has the same doors, with the horizontal lines. Imay be mistaken, but I believe that the 4 Screen Express Van, starts out on the 1/2 ton Pick-up chassis.
  21. Here is my Data plate, kinda hard to read, but it is a DB Data Plate and the VIN / SR# starts with 'A'.
  22. You are right about the 1/4 ton. I meant 1/2 ton, but even at that I am not sure. Like I said, I am no expert and am just going by my memory. As for a Serial number, are we talking like the VIN, engine or frame #. Wheel base, I believe is 108, but I would have to measure to be sure and it will have to wait until I get a chance to do it this weekend.
  23. Yes, I have a key and it does operate the lights as well as working the ignition. And I may need one! We have it torn apart and are trying to rebuild it, but not sure how it will come out or if it will work when we are done. Thanks
  24. Hello all! Anyone out there, maybe, have a good, workable Ignition / Light Switch sitting around not doing anything? I may be in need of one for my Paddy Wagon. We are going through it right now and it doesn't look good. Hoping we can rebuild it, but we are not sure it is rebuildable. If you have one or know where I can get one, PLEASE let me know ASAP. If you have one, let me know what you want for it and what the avialability is. Juan juantejeda@yahoo.com
