  1. Ours are Red Oak. The original slats were used as the mold for making the new ones. I can send pictures of the milling if you send me your email. juantejeda@yahoo.com
  2. I have developed an oil leak on my 1927 DB 4 Screen. The leak seems to be coming from the area just to the front of the water pump. Have not isolated it. Seems to leak after I shut off the motor. Does anyone one have any hints on what it might be? Is there a seal up in that area. If I'm noot mistaken, that is where the oil pump is located, but I can't tell is that is where it's coming from. It's not a bad leak, just drips for awhile after I shut it down.
  3. I also can tell you that one of the men in that picture on the back seat is a relative of mine. Those were the "Dorados" that ran with Pancho Villa. I enlarged the picture and recognized it. Just thought you might like to know.
  4. Thanks Dave! Is it 40wt in the engine? and how often would you recommend the change intervals?
  5. Try Faxon Auto Literature, faxbook@faxonautolit.com, they advertise some shop manuals and other manuals for the early Dodge Brothers. I ordered one but have not recieved it as of yet. About $40 including shipping.
  6. I'd like to have that siren for my Paddy wagon! Is it electric of mechanical?
  7. Can anyone tell me where I can find an oil and lube chart for a 1926 Dodge Brother 4 Screen. How many quarts of oil does it call for? Where are all the lube points and what kind of lubrecant do you use in the rear end?
  8. Would like to have a set of California license plates for our 1926 Dodge Brothers truck. The truck is a 4 screen, restored to a Paddy Wagon for the Santa Barbara county Sheriff's Department. Need an 'E' plate, if I can find one. Will go to a great cause and a donation would really be appreciated. IRS tax number available for wirte off purposes.
  9. Thanks Jason, I will make some checks and see where I am. Do you have some advice on adjusting the 3rd brush? Is it an easy adjustment or should I stay away from that?
  10. From the album: Dodge

  11. Hello all! I am looking for an OEM Transmission Dip Stick for my 1959 Thunderbird. I found out yesterday that the one I have is too short and I have been overfilling my tranny because of this. Need to find one the right length. Does not need to be the OEM if I can find one that is the right lenght.
  12. Thanks Dave. Will give it a try and see what happens. We have had an 8 volt battery ever since the resto, thought that they had an 8 volt for a better reason. I've checked the output of the gerator and it is about 5 volts at an idle. Do you know if that is about right?
  13. Our 27 Dodge Brothers 4 Screen Express is a Paddy Wagon restoration and I am looking for a rear Step for the truck. Does anyone have an idea of who might have one? Even a picture of one would be nice. Maybe I can get someone to manufature the step(s), but I am not sure what they look like.
  14. Can someone tell me what the output volatge should be for a 1927 Dodge Brothers 4 Screen Express with a 6 volt system. I have an 8 volt battery and it seems that I can get a good enough charge to keep the battery charged up. The truck is not driven very much, mostely displays and a few parades a year. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have checked the generator and it appears to have an output of about 5 volts, at an idle RPM.
  15. I have a leak at the rear bushing of my water pump.I need to repack the bushing but can't find the Packing rope. Does anyone know where I can purchase. I have read that most Farm Equipment stores have it, but so far I can't locate any. Is there any modern packing that can be used? Thanks for the help, I found what I need!
