  1. Well, took the clock out, and cleaned the points. They looked bad. When I moved the points arm, the clock started ticking. So, I guess I mimicked a little rewind charge? Got all excited thinking that I actually got the clock to work again, and put it all back together. But it didn't work when reinstalled. I did run a new wire from the fuse panel to the clock just to be sure. So, out she comes again. I think a magnifying light is in order. I'm amazed at how little I can see even with my glasses these days. Must be a burnt wire inside the clock? Gary
  2. At some point in time I need to convert to a 12 V system. I'm wondering what some of you have used in your conversions. Thanks! Gary
  3. Guys, is this the stand you are talking about? Northern Stand Can't find one there for $70 that's a two ton model. Thanks! Gary
  4. Bill gets the "Best Presentation of a Question Award", hands down! Congratulations! Gary
  5. The clock in my '50 used to work. Then just stopped. I have heard that sometimes you can clean these things up and they work. So, can anyone shed some light as to just what to clean up and how? Thanks! Gary
  6. John, are you like watching all 47 hours? And I wonder why 47 hours and not 48? Gary
  7. Rebecca, talk to "Old-Tank" before sending the shocks out. He has a thread here on how to fix em up. At $250 each for re-building, it's worth a look. I'd may be interested in the Carb. You can email me at: gnoub51@gmail.com. Thanks! Gary
  8. Hi Alex! It's great to see that an Italian likes American cars. I love Italian cars...and Buick's of course. Actually, I pretty much love everything Italian!!! Good luck on your search for a '53 Buick!! Gary
  9. You poor Canadians. It's like Spring here! Gary
  10. Let's try that link again. Here's goes: Again with the '54 Skylark
  11. Maybe I must see conspiracy everywhere now, but does anyone believe this is real?? Check this eBay action out. 54 Skylark OK, I'll have a Scotch now. Gary
  12. Now that's something I'd love to see!
  13. I'll have to give that engine stand a try. I need another one anyway. Thanks for the info. Gary
  14. Jake, what kind of engine stand are you going to use to hold that monster? The only one I've seen that supports both ends is over $1,000 (Norco??). Or, did you make your own. Gary
  15. Ken, don't forget the yards I sent you. There a couple of '55's in the local yard by me as well. Saw them on Sunday. I can check into that if you want. Gary
  16. And a lot more fun to drive!! Yoda is a three speed. Noisy in first though, but it's fun. My ex step son (and a gear head) got into a three on the tree once (he was 18 at the time) and had absolutely no idea what was going on. Funny! Most people on the road have never seen such a thing, except for old guys like John and Serb!! Gary
  17. Not sure how whoever managed to do that. I received an email from PayPal telling me that it looked like there was some suspicious activity on my account. I checked, changed passwords, etc. But it was too late. Apparently, someone hacked my user name and password and decided to buy some stuff from Spain ($1,250 dollars worth) on me.
  18. Stevo: I didn't think of that. Sure would speed up the process of getting cheated!! Gary
  19. OK, had a '63 Riv that would lay a rubber for as long as you had your foot into it. Scared the heck out of me once with so much smoke pouring in the interior. Those little bias plys never had a chance! Paid $800 for it in 1969. I really have to get another one soon. Jake, why the Cad over the Toro? Just curious. Had the use of a '71 once. That was a nice car as I recall. There was a very nice '69? for sale at Hershey '07 for $19k. I thought that was a good price. And both you and Matt are right about the 60 Special. I saw a perfect looking '56 Continental sell on eBay for around 25K last year. That was a STEAL!! I guess this means there are stills some great cars to be had at reasonable prices? So how old do you have to be before you can appreciate these cars?? OK, I'm 59 but I think anyone with good taste and a sense of design (a real gear head) can appreciate anything from any era. Of course, it's hard to match the fun of my Z06, but I still love driving Yoda! Gary
  20. Well, sold Frankie today for the BUY IT NOW price to someone in the UK that never bought anything on eBay before. So, I start to think that this is going to be a scam. Who knows where the real buyer is from. Anyway, I thought you guys and gals might be entertained by the email the "buyer" sent to me. Love the grammar. Here goes: "Hello, This is to inform you that I will issue out your Cashiers Check, and the Payment will be on it's way to your address immediately you answer the below questions and i will like you to keep to your promise that you will transfer the excess fund the same day you receive the Cashiers Check so i can settle the shipping company and get back to you the shipping date when the shipping company will come to you house and pick the item up at you base below are the question. 1. Can I trust you with the money? 2. Will you be able to wire transfer the excess the same day u receive the Cashiers Check? 3. Will you be available when the shipping company will be coming for the pick up? 4. Is the working condition of the item okay? 5. Can we take you for your word? 6. If you agreed with the above information kindly send me your name, address and phone number I will be waiting your reply Regards." Does anyone really fall for these things. Is the item in working condition ----hmmmmm....a car with out an engine, wheels or tires..... So, I just re-listed him. Now to get eBay to refund the fees for that "sale". They seem to be good about that. Last week, someone stole $1200 from my PayPal account. Well, not as expensive as getting a divorce. PayPal refunded the money fast, I will give them that!!! Gary
