I recently traded for a 1924 DB . Not knowing anything about the car before a few months ago , I can only say what it does unsatisfactorily. The car starts, runs and drives great . The odd thing it does when you descend down a grade or slow down to take a turn it wants to crap out . Then it may take 5 mins to rest before it will start. Out on the open road at throttle it runs perfect and pulls hills well. I tried disengaging the clutch and raising the throttle , and its fine. Any ideas? Im running non ethanol gas. This happens more often when its 80F and more. Cold weather no problems. Thanks Mike

when/what was the last car with a hand crank?
mikewest replied to TAKerry's topic in General Discussion
Ive started scores of motors with the stem winder but this is one that you have to pull your pants up and turn ur hat around backwards. I have a 39 Ford that starts easily with the crank. -

Im looking for a 31inch clincher tire or if in metric it would be a 1020x120 for a non Oldsmobile project chassis. . Im also looking for (1) 31 inch clincher rim/wheel. The wood isn't important if I can get a rim. Im told the Oldsmobile Limited also uses these size wheels and tires. All considered. Mike West Livonia NY 585 738 1541 Thank you.

Ive had 2 twenties DB touring cars and never thought they were a dog on the road. In fact I bragged a DB would run the ass off a T model the same vintage. So Last fall I bought a 24 roadster, very nice condition original. It starts , shifts ect perfect. Im disappointed that it likes 35 MPH and anything over that it acts like Im ringing its neck. Did they have different gear sets in the 20s?? Where is it marked on the diff?? Mike
