If worse comes to worst, I have a starter or two here. Shipping is a beast, though.

Tastes like aluminum to me.
Oily aluminum.

Nope.
Those go on the outer parts (under the taillights) of the bumpers between the bumper and mount so you can jack up the car with the original jack.

I have done it a bunch of times. You will never be able to solder through the hole, it will burn the insulator. Just add a horn button under the dash until you want to remove the column.
I'm not near my pics now to share how to do it.

Three things.
I love Diamondbacks.
That company is definitely not BUYING old stock, they just HAVE old stock in the warehouse.
It was a pleasure meeting you and Melanie.

Daniel,
The holes are adjustable, so leave them loose until the crossmember is back in, then tighten. I have always just done it this way

I'm getting in tomorrow afternoon.

Got into DC just now. 12:30 am after driving all day. I had an interesting thought earlier. The argument for driving hot rods is that you can go to any Pep Boys and pick up parts easier than original parts. There is truth to that, but when my 55 Special had a rotor go bad, it only took me two hours to locate and install one. An F-250 with 10 ply truck tires that you want highway treads on is really hard to find and ended up taking four hours extra of changing, driving buying etc. So while this is neither a Buick nor really that dramatic, it is yet another long road trip with my (now 13 year old) son, making memories and having laughs amidst the chaos.
Bob, our bet had something to do with something or other. Willie should remember what the bet was, cuz I believe he lost, as well. Somebody needs to locate that thread. Buick Jim was in on it too.
WAIT... It was a "my horn doesn't work" issue in post-war.

Remember, I'm from DC Bob.
BTW, what wine was I supposed to pick up in payment for my bet?

Mr Willie and Mr. Lamar, I am about to purchase the 2-groove AC generator. This was pulled from a 56 buick. I am a little nervous. Maybe you could help ease my nerves. Is there any way you could slap a 2-groove pulley on what was meant to be a 1-groove pulley generator and fool someone into thinking it's an AC generator. Maybe I am just a little paranoid. Please help. Thank you.
I've done that in a pinch and it worked.

No dice on the wagon.
At least I will be comfortable.

My drivability problem reared it's head again today. I am going to steal the fuel tank and carb off of my convertible tomorrow, and if that doesn't fix it, I will be driving the F-250.
I'm leaving Monday, one way or another.

Yeah, those beltline clips are harder to fudge.

Heading out Monday. Probably headed through Tennessee, so I can drop the Woodster off in DC.

I am SOOOO looking forward to this year's National. I need to be immersed in old cars and old friends. I want to meet Matt Whitaker and Bob Beck. I want to see all of you guys I consider family. Even the ones I haven't met yet.
Heads up... if any of you D-bags talks politics, I WILL walk away.
(Probably after calling you an idiot, regardless of affiliation).
Time to have some fun and catch up with my brothers and sisters.
I'm ready. Wagon got the oil changed today and hit 90 on Mopac. Cold AC, too. Leaving next Monday.

Oh, and I am running a mini starter on my wagon that was built in America.
