  4. Barbara you came to the right place if like JohnD said you could explain the noise just a little bit better and get a picture of the car on the form there are a lot of people that can give you good advice either to keep it or sell it. I am sure it sounds like a good deal to me.

  5. Sunday morning the BDE &PDW departed the host hotel for downtown Lowell Mass. we visited national Park Museum and had a nice tour of the hand dug canals built to power the cotton mills along the Merrimac River . We also enjoyed a short walking tour&A trolley ride with a guide for the museum and later watch the movie about the whole cotton Mills. After a good lunch the BDE members departed for Sturbridge mass to continue tour on their separate route. The PDW group consisting of Mark and Rinda Shaw in modern iron,BEA and John Scheib in their 1932 Buick model 57s Bill MacLachlan in his 1929 McLaughlin Buick roadster& David Brennan and Bibi in his 1915 model C. 38 Buick, and you're truly Frank batty in my 1940 model 61 Century went on to Dracut MA. We soon arrived at Shaw's farm dairy owned and operated by Mark's cousin Warren Shaw who give us a very nice tour of the farm operation we saw the retail store, bottling plant, ice cream production area, crossed the road to meet the girls (cows) as well as Baily the donkey who is first member of the Shaw's petting zoo. Then Mark brought us all the freshest ice cream and we relaxed and talked with Warren and marks other relatives for about an hour before leaving for our hotel in Lowell. We regrouped and took a short walk to supper before turning in for the night.(I went to the Elks club in Lowell) on Monday we get up and running by 9 AM and drove 85.5 miles to Deerfield ma. Where we stopped the shopped at the candle store. Then, we literally drove across the street for lunch at "Wolfies" for some very good hamburgers. Unfortunately, John's wife Bea took sick immediately after lunch and had to be hospitalized overnight. So the rest of the crew went on to old Deerfield Village to tour the museum and historic buildings as originally planned. We then drove back to our hotel in Greenfield mass and again walk to dinner.John joined us with the update on Bea.(I want to Deerfield Elks club) John planned to return home with Bea in their modern car on Wednesday and John's friend trailered their 1932 Buick back home. It was also decided that since the rest of the tour would head south, Bill MacLaughlin needed to head back to Canada early on Wednesday morning Bill had another tour to attend any needed to get back home. Wednesday the rest of us headed south to Sturbridge and stopped on the way to browse the Brimfield fleamarket which happened to be held that day.(A very big fleamarket held twice a year and people from all over this country come to spend their money) which happened to be held that week. We spent a couple hours walk around in the hot sun and high humidity where Mark actually brought a 20's era trouble light. After lunch a local diner, we all split up to go our separate ways. I live so close to Sturbridge Village(only 7 miles) and I had seen it often enough for my grandchildren and children, so I chose to just go home. Mark and Rinda took some scenic roads back to Shaw's farm for a family reunion. Only Dave and Bibi stayed and went on tour Sturbridge Village and say they have a great time and will be going back again I had a great time driving my Buick with good people and I'm looking forward to doing it again. I only write this letter to my friends on the form so that if you get a chance to drive your Buick on any tour after the show even though you might live in that state you will see things that you never had the time to see. Plus you'll have a great time(like I did) meeting and spending time with some good Buick friends.

Thanks Mark for help on this letter.

  7. I just want to thank Jack Welch and Jon Henry for working so hard to make this show a success I would also like to thank all the members of the Minuteman all volunteers from the other chapters for all the help we got. I could try to name everybody but it would take too long and I'm sure I would forget somebody and I wouldn't want to do that thanks again Jack and Jon a job well done. And I wish the North Carolina chapter the great weather that Jack and Jon gave us.

  8. Rosesdad. I have had American antique car insurance for about 10 years. On my way to Plano Texas from Boston Massachusetts I got as far as Memphis Tennessee and T-bones another car. I was at fault but within 30 days I had a check in my hand and I put my 1940 Buick in the hands of the body shop and is still on a road today. So like Jim says and I personally know it's hard they will come through. I think they are very good insurance company and I highly recommend them. Like Jim I am very sorry to hear about your car but better days are coming.

    Have a great Buick day

  9. TOM. Come to the show and enjoy yourself and how you look at is still a Crown Plaza. I am sure you will enjoy it and it will be very clean. Your BCA team worked hard to check these things out if nothing is to your satisfaction it will be taken care of. I personally think you should ask that question to the people that are working hard to show was a good time the committee that you're talking about would never put you in a hotel that you wouldn't enjoy with such a good price do you not think that someone checked it out? I'm very sorry if you do not come but you will be missing a great show.

    Have a great day

Do not forget to bring your roster book for the ride I hope you don't but if you do there are telephone numbers to call for help. I will be leaving my house July 6 at about 10 AM. I live right at Route 84 and 90 in Massachusetts. I do have a open trailer it's old but I still use it I have some good old craftsman tools I live one and a half hours from Albany New York and one and a half hours from Bridgeport Connecticut and if I can help with suggestions are coming to get you feel free to call.508/864/6316 I know we worry about driving our Buicks but always feel it as being a venture. If you're lost give me a call if you need help give me a call. That's what being retired is all about I love it.:)(no long distance award for my Buick this year)lol

  11. Still another way to get the Denver's.(No trucks and buses to push you off the road) If you are not towimg and just driving and you are coming up 95 get off the New Jersey Turnpike exit 11 to the Garden State Pkwy., North. Continue to the end and follow signs to Tappan Zee bridge go over the bridge to exit 9 it will be marked The Merritt Pkwy., North. Follow that all way up through Connecticut for about one hour exist to Route 91 to Hartford to exit 29 to Route 84 E. That will take you up to the Massachusetts Turnpike takes that toward Boston 95 north to Danvers.(PS buy gas the last gas station in New Jersey on the Garden State Park Way and you will make it to exit 1 in sturbridge ma and then buy fuel at the pilot not the mobile gas station) you'll know y when they see the price of fuel in New York and Connecticut) have a great Buick ride(day)

    Frank

  12. I have a suggestionthat might be helpful to you guys and girls if you decide to buy something that's heavy awkward and can't figure out just yet how you are getting it home. I will have three cars there and if it can fit in the trunk or a back seat of a 1983 Riviera, 1996 roadmaster, a 1940 century. I can take it home and put it in my shed to you can make arrangements to have it shipped to you your way(just a few weeks though) so come to the show and enjoy yourself with the Minutemen and the whole BCA and spend money and have a great great time.

    Have a great Buick day

  13. For those of you have mapped out going through 93 in MedfordMass very heavy construction avoid it at all possible. Next people and are traveling up Route 95 when you get into New Haven I believe it's exit 49 it will be marked for Boston /Hartford Route 91 take that to exit 29 it will be marked Boston Route 84 it ends at the Massachusetts Turnpike Route 90 take that to Route 95 north to Danvers. It is a lot faster taken that way and get back on 95 than it is to go up to Providence Rhode Island and all-around. Exit 1 there is a pilot gas station with good gas prices.

Have a great Buick ride (day)

  14. Gas prices are cheaper in Virginia than they are in Maryland and Delaware. Yes prices are very reasonable in New Jersey would try not to buy gas in New York are Connecticut. I know people come across 90 had not much of a choice but if you buy gas in Ohio or Pennsylvania you are a lot better off to you get Massachusetts. Gas in New Jersey even on the Turnpike or Parkway is at least $.20 a gallon cheaper than in New York or Connecticut so if you fule at the last stop in New Jersey you should make the pilot on Route 84 in Massachusetts at exit 1 and you will save at least $.20 a gallon

    have a great Buick ride

  15. I had aa friend of North Carolina(yes I do have friends down south) sent me this no Buick in it but I thought you all might like to see this.

  16. Welcome to the club. And welcome to the forum where you'll find some of the best people in those conversations and a lot of us are good writers and a lot of us are good cry babies but we all have one thing in common BUICKS thanks for the pictures. And remember no question it's a bad question someone will definitely step up to the plate and answer your question. And just out of curiosity about what age are you.

  17. Let me see. I got my wife pregnant, I got my housekeeper pregnant, I've been accused of groping the girl, and I'm hiding a Buick roadmaster in the garage and I'm really feeling guilty about it I must tell my wife something to get the guilt out of me tell me what to say. I know I'll become a politician running for governor and I'll never have to tell her about the Buick

    have a great Buick day
