  1. Hi guys and girlswell let me start by saying thanks to everyone that organized the meet. I had a great time and it was great at the forum breakfast thanks Bill. While the trip out was good the water pump in big brother gave out in Gary Indiana I nursed it all the way to the meet. Thanks to Doug Siebel for bringing me one out and I put it on at the meet. The weather was great, coming all away across. My brother-in-law had a great time seeing America in a1940 Buick. (Especially the pubs I took him too) I was real proud to receive the long-distance award for a prewar BUICK. On the way back got as far as Buffalo New York and one bolt worked its way out of the generator bracket and the other one snapped so out came the tools and I couldn't drill the bolt out of the block so I left the tap and use it as the Dow and stole a bolt from the bell housing put a new belt on and home I want. Anyway was nice to meet all you guys again and Roberta thanks for all you do for the club.

  5. Hi. DK. It does sound fishy to me I think maybe because it's sold out and can get more money for their rooms from the general public is the only reason. I too booked a room early then found out that Doubletree was the overflow I have lots of points for free rooms that's why I went to the Doubletree. That's probably why I couldn't cancel and be sure another BCA club member would get the room.

  6. Hi everyone. I have a room at the Crowne Plaza for the dates July 2 third and fourth. I already put them on my credit card and I can cancel but when I called to ask if I cancel will another BCA member be able to get them. Their answer was it will just be open to the public and that's all they could do. So what I am suggesting is that if any member wants this room I will just pay it and not cancel and you guys can find me when I'm there and pay me back after you get settled in any other suggestions are welcomed. Please remember I do have to cancel them by the time they ask. PS I am staying at the Doubletree Hotel.

  10. Well that was fast sometimes I think I know what I'm doing. Well I found it and it's yours for the address to send it to if it fits it and works for you keep it it cost me $24 on eBay I tried it once a long trip and it worked well. It's still in the original 1940 bucks I believe but if it doesn't work please send it back I will ship as soon as I have your address. Please send no money to your sure it works.

  11. I had the same problem you have with my radiator shop when he recorded my 1940 radiator he changed the neck and had the same problem you did. When I brought it back to him he replaced it without taking the radiator out it talking about a half-hour. Later I found the right cap On eBay I might have another one in my garage if you can't find one let me know and i will ship it to you if I can find it.

  12. Well Mr. Earle and you're right again. Barbara says the black Riviera would look better green as in dollars but that's not to happen the next time she goes to work with that stupid little Subaru that big Riviera might look good in her garage LOL

  13. Hi guys and girls, well here I am up in Massachusetts and join a beautiful Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. So I got out the camera and took some pictures. These are all projects that I hope to get to when I get some time at least that's what I tell the wife. If you can guess what's missing from these pictures you will when absolutely nothing. But you will have the privilege of telling Barbara.(hint) there are four of one things and only three of the other.

  14. Yes Mark. I agree with everything you said a few years ago when I tore my 320 and transmission out of my 40 century and rebuilt it from the pan up it was much more fun than labor. I also agree with everybody else about how nice is we get quick response when we have a problem. This form is just great and very addictive.

  15. Hi unclefogey. While I know my rig was unconventional it did work. I had the Skylark tied down with two straps and a chain while having a stop for fuel every hundred and 35 miles I would go out and check this thing very good and it didn't move an inch on the way home. Now that's not saying I didn't pray to my guardian angel on the way home because I sure needed her help. The wagon pulled her nice it was a stopping that scared me. My experience in driving a tractor trailer for 42 years across this country sure helped. But at 65 years old I still do some stupid things and will continue I hope in my adventure. I didn't even get the finger when I was in New Jersey or the East Coast attitude in New York that was different. I think that picture that you're referring to the left side was just the way I park the rig but thanks for noticing.
