  1. I'm with Hemi. I am 69 and still kicking. I learned how to avoid locking the brakes. Drift corners before radial tires. I don't tailgate. I drive an automatic with 2 feet. When someone is waiting to pull out, my left foot is over the brake pedal. I still drive a 5 speed also. I think the Teves system is just a fancy gadget. ABS lets you choose WHAT you are going to hit. Something else I don't like is the electronic stability control on my 2010 Sebring along with the crummy rotors that overheat and hot spot. I'm getting back to restoring 3 turbo Chryslers after a few years of weather disasters kept me busy elsewhere. I know how to counter steer in a skid. My two scariest skids were on black ice at 70 (just sit back and enjoy the ride?) And wet blacktop with gasoline on it from previous accident. Heck I had a Renault Dauphine on 2 wheels at 50 and brought it back down on all 4 while taking a curve. I think Larry is providing a service to the average driver of these cars though. Larry you just missed a steal in St. Louis! I paid $3,000 for a red TC with 40,000 miles that is mint. Even the driver floor mat looks like no shoe has ever touched it. The po's mechanic missed the Fuel pressure regulator when chasing down a code 13. Now I have to fit some carpet to cover the carpet! Everyone can have an accident. I talked to one of the stunt drivers from "The Italian Job" and they totaled 30 cars filming that movie. Soo I guess both of you are right in your own view. Correct that. I guess both of you are correct in your own way. I don't want to start another confusing battle over the right left difference between Italy and the US. 2. The system has been open for 5 years so I don't want to sell that to someone.
  3. Does185 CHANGE THE high pressure FUEL LINES UNDERHOOD AND USE THE PROPER CLAMPS. Overlooking that one thing has put quite a few chryslers in the junk yard. Congats on the car. I would love to have one of those!!!!!!!!
  4. I didn't get that one. I'm not going to tell you what I paid for it, but the guy knocked off $500 without my asking. He is being transferred to the Azores off Portugal. His mechanic was chasing down a code 13 and missed the fuel pressure regulator. When I pulled the vac hose off it gas poured out. Take note a code 13 means that something in that circuit is wrong not that the Map is BAD! This one is 40,000 miles. The driver floor mat looks like a shoe has never touched it. ! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Ready for show and bought yesterday, did you get the 18,000 miler from Mound Minnesota? It was on ebay and the auction time ended yesterday. Haven't seen it personally but heard from the guy that sold me new tires that it is spectacular. Do want to get a working remote trunk release if you have one and the lens cover for the trunk light if you have them both. Would $50.00 be enough? Larry I'm charging the battery in the part out car to check the accumulator, I think I have you covered. 50+ 10 shipping. I'll post up tomorrow. That is just a big GM trunk latch. Buick or Olds same vintage.
  5. My apologies to all for a confusing post! The interior is Ginger. That is also my wife's nickname. The cars are 1989. I was very excited about buying this car. I am more excited now that I have seen it and bought it!!!!!!! It is show ready!!!!!!! I bought the replacement yesterday and it is show ready. It is too beautiful to drive in the winter, so I am keeping the hail damaged car fro winter driving. I still have the Royal Cabernet and Ginger with the bad engine for parts to sell. Parts already sold: passenger side cornering light, grill, trunk lifts, The hail damage is on a repaint and paintless dent repair does not work on a repaint.
  6. please consider this post closed. Change that to WILL be parting out 2 TCs. I just bought one that looks brand new for my princess. Post up what you need and I will send pics and price by email. One has a beautiful leather interior with 5,500 hail damage. It is still being driven daily. Good mechanics on the car, abs works. Perfect headlights etc. Let me know what you need. The other has good abs, engine shot, faded paint, good trim, wheels, perfect head lights, and tail lights. Also have 2 1/2 leather skins for seats. Close match to original.
  7. Plus one on that advice.I think all 8 valve are the same and I think the MP gaskets are back in stock. The head bolts are stretch to torque and best replaced? One other point is some of the exhaust stud holes are drilled into the coolant passages and need to be sealed if you get the head resurfaced. I just noticed 2006 Jeep Wrangler Golden Eagle! That should be mine since the Golden Eagle Ferry is just north of St. Louis.

  9. My wife's car has a bad bulb behind the amber lens in the front. I'm guessing Hemi just grinned reading that sentence. It appears that you have to take out the plastic in front of the rad to get to it, then loosen some bolts to pull the assembly out the front of the fascia. I have two rusted (make that 3) screws for the first piece. Then ? Never buy a Chicago car even if it has been undercoated. It is 87 degrees with what feels like 150 percent humidity and it's only 10:13 in St. Louis. Good thing I have a parts car to rob. Read the manual first! There are two screws under the fascia. I will be unavailable for the next week. I think I have a concussion from banging my head on the wall.
  10. Shellgame on Turbo-Mopar recalibrates the computers for the 4 bangers. He might be able to see what is bad on yours.
  11. If you look at the right side, there are probably 2 lights there in the rear. You have a bad bulb in the rear? I have to fix my wife's car too.
  12. Did they mention the titanium muffler bearing also? I think they are sadly misinformed. Tell them no luggage but indeed the very rare and elusive muffle bearing WAS standard.
  13. Somebody pulled a new scam in St. Louis. The buyer was allegedly a dealer. He came to St. Louis to buy the car after talking on the phone and making a deal. He had a cashiers' check from the dealership for the agreed price. He handed over the check in the evening after the bank was closed. The buyer could only confirm that the account was valid. The buyer drove off in the VW ?????????? The seller found out the next morning that the account had a couple dollars in it. He was out $70,000. Going way back, a friend was to close the deal on his Vette at his bank. After waiting 1 hour in the lobby after he was supposed to meet the buyer, he went out to discover his car had been stolen.
  14. Make sure you have a reserve price. My mechanic's daughter sold $15,000 of hoses for a high bid of $150! Don't accept Western Union. Believe it or not, I know someone whose son was dumb enough to do that. I would only accept payment by debit card. Paypal can come back and bite you. Most pros on Ebay do that now.
  15. I have one running and a parts car.
  16. File a complaint with the BBB (which is worthless in my opinion), the attorney general in your state, and a local TV station in your area. The AG will send a letter they basically can't help you but the letter they send to the offender gets me a lot of quick resolutions. A tv station will get publicity and maybe leads on the guy. Forgot to mention the police. They can track him down.
  17. This is the response I got to a new law that does NOT require a title for scrapping in Mo. Notice that if it is 20 years old, NOTHING is required of the scrapper!!!!! Here is his email. Kevin Engler Kevin.Engler@house.mo.gov Please swamp his inbox!!!!!~ William, The bill introduced and passed last year was intended to help rural areas rid property of old, inoperable motor vehicles. Only motor vehicles that are inoperable and at least 10 model years old, or the parts from a motor vehicle that is inoperable and at least 10 model years old, can be purchased by a scrap metal operator without acquiring the original title, salvage title, or junking certificate from the seller of the vehicle for parts. However, the scrap metal operator must: · Verify with the Department of Revenue, via the department’s online record access, that the motor vehicle is not subject to any recorded security interest or lien. · Submit a copy of the seller’s state ID to the Department of Revenue · Submit to the Department of Revenue the bill of sale (designed by the director) to certify that the vehicle is at least 10 model years old, is inoperable, not subject to any recorded security interest or lien, and that the seller has legal authority to sell the vehicle or parts. If the motor vehicle is inoperable and at least 20 model years old, then the scrap metal operator is not required to verify the existence of any liens with the Department of Revenue. Inoperable motor vehicle -A motor vehicle that is in a rusted, wrecked, discarded, worn out, extensively damaged, dismantled, and mechanically inoperative condition and its highest and best value is for scrapping purposes. Sincerely,
  18. Good pic Hemi! Now I know what you look like.
  19. Welcome to the club. God doesn't want me to have a nice car. 96 Olds=big tree. 87 Shelby Lancer=big tree. 2 TCs and 2010 Sebring= 2.5" hail storm. Anything that comes off easy and is small. front grille and HEADlights, stainless trim, tail lights, seats if leather is good, rear side windows, front axles and hubs for a start. If you're paying for removal, the return won't be much. Maybe GhostyMosty would be willing to strip it for some compensation.
  20. Mine is on the front cover!!!! (almost) Mine was a 53 Stude commander Starlight hardtop. When I sold it, it had a Golden Hawk dash, 2 new fenders, rechromed front, Daytona Lark 4 speed, and Twin Traction differential. I had a chance to buy a custom body converted to convertible. I missed a Packard Hawk by a week in the junkyard.
  21. Buick Reattas used the same system. For a mechanic you might check their club.
