  1. I miss my TC, but... I am in Ojai, CA. I owned two 1991 TC's. A tree fell on the front of my first one (white with black interior) and damaged the hood, fender and windshield. One of the things I had to replace while I owned it was the brake booster assembly, or whatever it is called. Ad I recall, it was around $800. I then purchased another 1991 with butterscotch interior. So, parts being as expensive as they are, I decided to disassemble my first one, rather than junking it. I had my mechanic take it apart, including more or less everything that could be removed, down to
  2. I just bought my first Packard: a 1951 250 Convertible that was on ebay. (But it was local so I looked at it before buying). It came with a 51 Coupe that I didn't want, but agreed to take. Supposedly, it runs. The body is clean. There are lot's of parts with it. I may need the engine for the Convertible. Not sure yet. I don't have anyplace to store the car, so, if I don't need the engine, I will sell it as it currently is. IF I need the engine, then I will sell it including the engine from the convertible, which cranks but isn't starting. Car will be in the North Hlyd area. I

  5. I have a ‘91 white/ black interior. A tree fell on it, doing enough damage (although still driveable) that I bought a replacement, ‘91 white/ ginger. I am having my mechanic disassemble the damaged one, saving as many parts as is practical, for future use, and possibly selling some that I don’t think I will need, if they are worth the trouble. My question is: what parts do you guys definitely think are worth the trouble of disassembling & saving, and what are not, keeping in mind that I have to pay to remove them, and then store them? Any input will be helpful. Thanks- David - Ojai, C
  6. A tree branch fell on my TC and smashed the windshield. So- I am looking for an inexpensive replacement. If anyone can direct me to one for sale, please email to dfeigin@yahoo.com thanks- David
  7. HI- I assume that there are supposed to be two working bulbs inside the rear-view mirror light; one on the left side, and one on the right. Only one side on my mirror works. How do you get inside to change the bulbs? What bulbs are used? Thanks- -David
  8. David- I am in the L.A. area, so I could come for the top. Can you please email me at dfeigin@yahoo.com ? Thanks- David
  9. Hi- <o></o>I am enjoying my new TC, and enjoying the help of those of you that have responded to my questions. <o></o>---- It seems that a top-cart and hardtop cover will be useful. Any input as to which one to get, where to get it, how much to pay, etc. ? Anyone know of one for sale? (I did see some on ebay) <o></o>--- Also- I think it would be practical to have a soft tonneau cover that would cover the area from the windshield to the hard tonneau. However, I would not like to drill holes and add snaps to the body. <o></o>---
  10. Thanks Alan and Bob. I unlatched the front latches (not following directions in manual) as Alan suggested, and then the rear pins engaged easily, and the top locked-down. This is quite a relief. Most everything is now working. Car is a pleasure to drive, and I can understand why many people are enjoying them. Thanks again. - David
  11. Hi- I acquired at 1990 W/B/B TC this week. Everything is great, except I can't get the soft top to lock down in the back. The pins do not click when pressed down in the rear, regardless of how many times I push the TOP button up / down, in order to position things properly. Any advice? Also, as an academic matter, reading the instructions for removing the hard top, unlocking the 'side latches' is required, but I can't find any side latches, only the latches in the front......... Were there / are there any side latches ? Thanks- -David
