  1. First person to send me $50 gets the A/C vent, postage included. Pete Phillips PO BOx 1247 Leonard, TX 75452
  2. I have some from the '57 Super I am parting out, but they are two-piece with the third groove pulley being bolted to the two-groove one. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX
  3. Rare find: Flawless, new old stock, set of four 15" wheel covers for 1955 Roadmaster only. Never been on a car. No pits, no faded centers, no dings, no dents. None better. $400 for the set, plus postage. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX
  4. These are nearly impossible to find anymore. Correct, new old stock, muffler that mounts cross-ways behind the rear axle of a 1961, 1962, and 1963 compact Buick Special and single exhaust Skylark. In and out on the same end, and a hanger bracket on the other end. If you are having your car judged or just want it to sound and be factory-correct, you need this. $130 plus postage. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard,
  5. 1957 day/night mirror. Really nice condition mirror, but the mounting bracket is very pitted. Unscrew the flawless mirror portion and use it on your '57 or '58 Buick. $25 plus postage.
  6. The outer plastic surround is broken but the inner stainless piece is fine.
  7. Most states in the U.S. used the engine number, rather than the chassis number, for the V.I.N. on the car's title, prior to 1952 or 1953. If the engine in the car was changed, it's very likely that the old engine number was ground off so as not to confuse one car's VIN with another, if the engine was still good and put in another car. Something like that could be the reason the engine number is ground off in one of the photos above.
  8. Sorry to hear this. He was a frequent, helpful, and well-informed contributor on this forum, and will be missed. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, Texas
  9. I will be hauling this parts car to the salvage yard next week (April 10-14). Does anyone need me to pull parts from it before it goes? Engine is stuck and will not turn. Upper grille bar is broken, as is the driver's side of the grille. Front bumper guards (next to license plate are damaged. Entire passenger side of the car has body damage and is not worth saving. I have pulled and saved the rear bumper ends which are very solid with no rust holes, and I have saved the tail light housings and rear bumper extensions between rear bumper and rear wheel opening. The car has factory A/C and power windows. Dashboard and interior door panels are pretty good; seats are bad, no back glass, passenger side glass is all cracked. Radiator and fan shroud are gone. Pete Philips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX
  10. Look what I found in my collection of Buick parts: A super rare, new old stock, "blackout" 1942 parking light bezel. It's painted a drab, brownish-olive color, so it dates from January or Feb. of 1942 when chrome plating on new cars was outlawed by the government due to the War. Probably ought to be in a museum, but which one? I'll sell it if someone is restoring a 1942 "blackout" Buick, but doubt if any of those are still around to be restored. Just thought I would share this amazing find.
  11. 1926-1929 Buick expert Tony Bult has asked me to help him sell his 1996 Roadmaster wagon. He and his wife are trying to cut back. He is the 2nd owner, 129,000 miles, not driven in winter or bad weather, exceptional condition, original paint & leather upholstery, LT-1 engine, garaged in S.E. Wisconsin, $11,000. pphillips922@gmail.com for more photos; or contact owner, Tony Bult for more info: <tonybuick272829@gmail.com> I have seen the car and it is very, very nice. Underside is just as good as the rest of it--no rust. 1996 is the most desirable year for these.
  12. Left and right hood hinges with. springs for 1956 Buick Special & Century. Won't fit the Super & Roadmaster. Good condition, not bent, not damaged. $100 for the pair plus postage. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX.
  13. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I don't have a 1957 parts book handy. Are the rear bumper ends (and front bumper ends) the same on all series, or do the 50/70 series have different ones from the 40/60 series? Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
  14. This one looks very well designed and professionally installed, but I didn't think Buick ever offered continental spare tire kits on its cars from the factory. This car is for sale in the Dallas, Texas area. Not mine. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/5971675516211940/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  15. The dates of the 2024 BCA national meet in Strongsville, Ohio (Cleveland suburb) are July 10-13, 2024. I have gotten a lot of questions about when it will be held and that is all the information I have for now. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX.
  16. Those are two different cars. Look at the photos. First group of photos of the one in Massachusetts has wide whitewalls and a spotlight on driver's door. Second group of photos of the one in Georgia or Missouri has a car with narrow whitewalls and no spotlight.
  17. Here's a cover photo of Mac's 1932 model 98 that I found last week.
  18. Still for sale. I don't have the side mounting bolts and washers, but I could go to the local hardware store and get some if you can't. Pete Phillips
  19. That Electra convertible's interior was a disaster. Looked like it had been sitting out in the rain for many, many years. Very little on the interior was salvageable. All of the soft trim, door panels, armrests, and all of the electrical contacts & switches were ruined. Such a shame.
  20. I saw that display from a little distance and assumed it was the sleeve valve display, which I have seen before at Hershey. Now I wish I had looked a little closer! Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX.
  21. Wow, that is huge news. What a stunning loss for the Buick Club. His knowledge of 1932 Buicks was unsurpassed. I understand he also had a very large collection of early 1930s Buick parts. He, with assistance from Ron DeGroff and Guy Bennett, Jr., practically invented the Buick Club's 400-point judging system in 1989 and he wrote most of our Judging Manual which is still used today. I've known Mac for 30 years and liked him a lot. His wife has bad Altzheimer's disease, and he had been caring for her. I am really sad to hear this. Pete Phillips
