  1. I found this angle of my 30, taken at Asheville Meet two years ago. Cowl (not cow) lights seem to be the only other difference. The wire wheels are a 30 and up option. Karl
  2. I think 29 and 30 had same hub caps, but my 30 had this bumper. Karl
  3. Am I correct that sometime this year we will be on line for ten years? We now have over 28800 members, how many of you are still here with member numbers under #50? (to find your member number click on user list and find your display name, your number will be after your name) It is interesting to see the growth of this forum, I joined in August 2002, and I was #873. By 2004 we had member numbers over 2000. We all know who has the most posts, but even he did not join the fun until 2002! Looking at numbers of posts of newer members shows us we have a growing base of members willing to share stories, and their knowledge to keep our old cars going. Will we have more than 30,000 before Winters end? Antiques and the good old days: do you remember when we fought a 286 system and dial up to surf this in the early days? Waiting, waiting, and waiting for pictures to load!!!(I must be getting old) Karl
  4. Capt. tailfin, Thanks for sharing the photos from the Meet. After a week of touring, the High School made for a nice venue for the show. I was glad to see all the local interest. My car was the green 30 Pierce sdn. that was displayed with the rare option that the front seat that folds down to make a bed for the driver. Karl
  5. Jerry, only after all pre-registrations are processed will the Hershey Region know if spaces will be sold. The request for Fall Meet packet on the cover sheet of the May issue of Antique Automobile will have this info if spaces are availabile. Karl
  6. Just a quick reminder that your space renewals have to be postmarked by Feb. 13th. (THIS FRIDAY!!). Make sure you do this before you leave for Philadelphia. Karl
  7. Wills Ste Claire had electric magnets in the OE headlights to change the angle of the reflecter for high and low beam. That said, here is a 1926 Wills with E&J headlights, never a factory option for them, but what a different look for a Wills. I wish I could be more help, I would not remove them! Karl
  8. Dec 1934,35,&36 Ford,Part #48-17080-A2, Karl
  9. Themoneypit, I see the Standard Catalog of Autos shows the 1924-26 Stars having the correct amount of wood spokes, and 4 lugs. The original photo is not any clearer than the scan I posted. The catalog does not show any open cars to compare the roof line. Maybe someone has a photo? Karl
  10. Thanks for everyones help, I agree with the 1924 Big Six id., Was Studebaker the only auto maker to use three hood holddowns? I don't remember seeing any others. Karl
  11. For everyone who wants to learn about the Henry Ford, Dodge Bros, and C.H. Wills connection, check out the new Wills Club Site. Karl http://www.freewebs.com/willsstclair/index.htm
  12. Thanks! that's exactly the one I was looking for to complete the top of the steering wheel on a Series 80 coupe. Karl
  13. I am looking for a source for the small round "top hat" style bakalite horn button used on most 20's Packards, Pierce and others. I was told a Packard parts vender reproduced and sells them. Can anyone piont me in the correct direction? Thanks, Karl
  14. I was at the Owls Head Auction. The 27 Packard was a very good #2 car. This car is a full Classic and is in a very good retail, resale color (blue & black). I felt the 52k was under retail of the last few years. This car would not need much to get it's Jr trophy. 65k would not be a bad retail price in today's market, 90k is a stretch, however this allows the dealer to give you FULL retail for a trade. I am sure he knows that 90k will not happen anytime soon. Moneypit, we all have stories of those that get away. Restorer32 I NEED a cheap Duesenburg too. Karl
  15. Please e-mail photos and price, Thanks, Karl
  16. 2008 Hershey update: Car Corral sold out, Flea spaces sold out, 1299 cars for Sat show. Spaces were available in summer sales and all sold... Next year send in your request card and try again. The Region does have field security, and has warned and thrown out vendors every year. Read and follow the rules that come with your stickers and you will be fine. Have fun. Karl
  17. Arrow, Welcome to the forum. Toys, cars, furniture... You only have original paint one time. You can restore it 10 times. The Pierce Arrow Society judges cars for correct original items, and a unrestored 30 coupe won the 1930 class last year at the Meet in Mass. I just purchased a 1927 Pierce that is unrestored and will stay that way. The problem here in PA is the antique plate use does not like "ugly" cars such as these. I am happy to show it "no Judge" with the other cars going for First Jr's knowing it is with the rest of the classics. The other option is HPOF class at AACA shows. Good used parts are a good fix for most problems. As soon as you re-chrome the first part it will look out of place. Karl
  18. aftermarket 36 Chevrolet, Karl
  19. Bob, I guess my point is they gave him 10% off list without him asking, he may have gotten more had he asked. Karl
  20. Here is my two cents,"Suggested" list price on group 2 is 99.95 at Carquest, my stocking dealer cost is $67 exchange, so if you ask for a discount, the counter guy will usually give you 15%, I would go back to NAPA and ask if they give a "hobby" discount. Keep in mind profit is not a bad word and is the only thing that keeps the doors open. (small business owner) Karl
  21. I was looking for a "modern" old car. I figured a Pacer would fit the bill and be something you could drive anywhere. This one has Power steering, power Disc Brakes, and A/C. One of AMC's big ad features for '75 was that it had the rubber mounted "K" frame that insulated the engine vibration from the passenger compartment. NOW 30 years later no one cares about making parts for this "big" little car. Karl
