  1. See the attached PDF file, this is a GM bulletin that I received about a possible issue with the model year 1989, 1990 3800 engines that have a engine miss above 3500 RPMs.....Has anyone every experienced this issue? I have personally never heard of it... and looks like it woule not be an easy job to fix. riviera miss.pdf
  2. Thanks Barney!: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> That is the kind of tool I will attempt to make so I don't end up damaging anything to get the pressure on the back of the bezel. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> ….It is truly the simplest things that cause the most issues.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Thanks,<o:p></o:p>
  3. Hey all, I attempted today to remove the bezel from the dash today on my 1991 Park Avenue to switch out the twilight and traction control switch... easy job right!...well, after I removed the 4 screws, I tugged on the bezel and... Nothing, the bottom popped right out but not the top, I tugged as hard and I could without breaking the entire bezel in two. I tried to apply some pressure from behind and just indented the side o f the bezel but could not get the front of the dash to pop off? Any suggestions? I have removed bezels before and actually two other park avenues before but this one seems to be STUCK!.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Thanks,<o:p></o:p>
  4. Thanks radioman1490! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> I went to my local put a part yard and found a "like new" tool in a 1993 Park Avenue but the little nub doesn’t match up with the ones that I have on my Park Ave. I might just try the Dealer or continue to check out the pull a part yard as they get others in to see if I can find one that is white or just find a whole new set with a matching tool.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Thanks All!<o:p></o:p>
  5. OK All! DuH, all I had to use WAS a scewdriver to remove the cap...Thanks ErnieR.... I took two pictures.. see attached, anyone with an OEM tool that would like to sell it to me I would appreciate it so I could rotate my tires. Thanks, Brian
  6. I would like to take a picture ..but I am not sure how to take the hub cap off the wire wheel to take that picture without the tool.....
  7. I need an OEM wire wheel key to unlock a 15" 1991 Buick Park Avenue. Thanks All!
  8. Here are some pictures I just snapped...Since it is Easter Sunday the shop is closed and the doors were locked so I tried to take some pictures of the interior through the window, if you can't tell the leather is in very very good condition and the doors even still have the clips on each side of the door pull strap... also see how the rear window seals are in next to new condition. I just hate to see this Reatta sitting in the sun day after day now.....
  9. Padgett: I was inside the car a few days ago and tried the key but the battery was dead…. The interior is very nice…. The mechanic that is now selling the car (his late uncle's… I believe his mom’s brother) said the Reatta was running perfectly... I checked out the motor and is was spotless yet as you said I could not turn it over to check out the screen and the ABS etc. I said I would come back after he recharged the battery but I haven’t made it back yet. I will go now and see if I can't take a few pictures and post back.
  10. "Where is this car? " The 1988 Reatta is located in Wingate, NC ..and has been since purchased by original owner.
  11. Well; Since there has not been any response on the 88 Reatta question.., the asking price was $4800.00 but from what I could determine…negotiable.... anyone interested? The right thing to do is it make all the kind Reatta folks here aware of what I consider a "great find", I was very seriously considering it myself but decided to wait for that 1989 or 1991 cherry red somewhere out there one day. PM me and I can send you the phone number of the owner (I don’t think it would be wise to post it public), sorry I did not take any pictures while I was there, I can later today if the rains lets up or on Saturday but it is in VERY good condition in your interested, just been sitting for a while with the before mentioned observations...
  12. The last time I shipped a Reatta from CA to NC was about 9 years ago or more using DAS it was somewhere around $550.00 or so.... with the gas prices today I am sure it would be a bit higher but with the history behind the car, it may be worth while.. Good Luck.
  13. HA! LOL!! That’s exactly what I was thinking as I was reading this thread. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

    25,000 miles...
  15. Hey Reatta folks: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> I have come across a 1988 Reatta with 59,000mi one owner. Has the smaller Reatta emblem on the hood, VERY clean motor, has the larger color sunburst on the horn built 7/1988 all numbers match and no accidents. I have been looking for a very nice condition 89 or a 91 but just came across this 88 which I was not considering BUT…..<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> The Reatta has been well taken care of until the previous owner passed and has been outside for the previous 2 years about.... Needs WAX BAD, but the paint is currently in good condition but without major quick help will be shot in a few months and the rear pinstripe is beginning to wear off, the seals around the windows and doors are all fine with NO sun damage yet... the head liner is beginning to fall, the rear light shield needs to be plastic polished, the battery is dead so I could not start it up... will try again this week, the clear coat on the rims are peeling, the instrument cluster seems loose ( how would I tighten it?) no 16 way power seats, all the electric buttons for glove box / trunk / gas/headlights seem to work, the headlights need to be rebuilt for sure and tires are dryrottted, rear trunk keyhole is coming apart, original floor mats in very nice condition, leather is in very nice condition, NO moon roof.....what would be a fair price?.... I believe the current price is too high but wonder what the general consensus is here so not to insult the current owner and still be fare ( I will let ya’ll know what I was quoted after a few responses).<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Thanks All.

  19. BOY....? I had no idea that my "interesting video" posting was going to generate such animosity or touch so many folks nerves... how can I remove this posting so we can all in the words of R. King; "all just get along" and play nicely.... As Buick5563 said "ALL ACCIDENTS SUCK NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE DRIVING!!!!!!!!!" GO BUICK!!
  20. LOL! Thanks, that was funny! PRAISE JESUS! "JESUS LOVES THE BUICK!!!" :-)
  21. Click on the link and watch the third video called; 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and 2009 Chevrolet Malibu in 40 mph frontal offset crash test .....I was very suprised at the results.... http://www.iihs.org/webvideo_index.html
  22. Hey All: I have been looking for a set of chrome window vents/ deflectors but have yet to find any online or on Ebay. I have found the smoke plastic ones that need to be attached with 3M tape but I think the chrome ones would look nicer and match the rest of the chrome on the Park Avenue too. Anyone have a heads up on where to find a set? Thanks!
