  1. the 53 322 has the really big dome From 54 up,the dome varied (in 56, for example, the dome was lower on stick-shift cars). In 1966 we raced a 401 with O.S. 364 pistons because the dome was a wee bit higher on the 364 pistons than it was on the 401 pistons. We won at the drag strip on a regular basis with this set-up.

  2. TAKE THE FRONT COVER OFF. THERE WILL BE A BOLT IN THE CENTER.PUT THE UNIT IN PARK. WITH LOW BAND ADJUSTING COVER REMOVED,APPLY LOW BAND WITH A PRY BAR AND REMOVE BOLT..THEN REMOVE PARTS OF CONVERTOR. WHEN YOU FINISH SEAL,ETC,TORQUE CENTER BOLT THE SAME WAY YOU LOOSENED IT. REGARDS,RALPH.

  3. I assume the car is inrunning condition. On that basis, take the cer out on a test run. While driving about 50.shift the car into neutral, and let the engine die conpletely. Turn the key on and put the Dynaflow in "L" The car should start. This proves the rear pump is working. Started working on Dynaflowa in 1947(in Flint, Michigan) Tow and enjoy!

  4. The 41 wheels came with three clips to hold the hubcap. These hubcaps were larger than those of previoud models, but the cap size remained the same for many years thereafter. You can get by with later wheels,as long as you get those with clips for the hubcaps. I think my 42 had identical wheels as my 41. Most later wheels had 5 clips,a BIG improvement.

  5. I have repaired many of these by using universal hose clamps. Get two large clamps, and put one at the very front and one at the very rear of the boot. This of course, will not work if the boot is torn, but works fine if the boot is a bit loose. If you cant find big clamps, use several, end to end at each location.
