  1. Buick engineers advised strongly. against boring to other than the prescribed bore, and that anything other than usual oversizes could be troublesome. The only time I ever "cheated" on this was when we were racing 225 V 6's in a special class. We bored it to put later Buick "standard" pistons in it. We wound up with 231 cubic inches. (I wonder how that happened?)

  2. I spent some time with the "Motorama" in 1952 (I was just several exhibits from Burl Ives) My exhibt was the 1952 Buick chassis with the plastic Dynaflow whih worked. I had ny picture taken by the plastic Dynaflow at Flint in July ,but have not seen a copy yet I also have a picture of me doing the explanation of Dynaflow during the Motorama. This eas one of my most pleasant duties of my 30 years with General Motors.

  3. 47 did not offer Dynaflow. You would run into engine mounts and a number of other problems. The only way I would want to tackle a situation such as this would be to have a donor car with everything I needed, and then I am not sure about transfering engine mounts from one frame to the other. 4. It is not uncommon for a "300",, "350" or "400" transmission to leak when stored . When driven daily, the torque convertor leaks back very little, but when stored a long time, the upper half of the convertor bleeds back into the oil pan, then the seal around the shift shaft drips. Check that seal (easy to replace)

  5. Do you have a Delco Voltage regulator? Some "Dimestore" regulators do not have temperature compensation ability, and the voltage climbs as they get hot. Delco units can give trouble if the upper points go bad. Check Delco units when they are up to operating temperature and you have a good battery that is fully charged. Ralph Crisp

  6. I am no expert on Mopar,in fact there are those who may think I am not an expert on anything, but here goes.On GM products, the points on the regulator are made of dissimilar metals, this to minimize.metal transfer.Reversing the polarity causes much transfer and premature failure.Another thing to consider is the radio. It may not work with the wrong polarity. I am not very daring,I usually put things back to standard.

  7. Each year, the combustion chambers were changed on the 322 engine. The 53's were definitely all by themselves. The 56 had valve recesses in the pistons for the larger 56 valves, (see 56 Product School Manual) If you dont mix them, you wont have a problem.Ralph
