  1. Charlie, What do you mean 'strip and refinish'? Do you actually repaint the front end? --Tom
  2. Could someone confirm that the gap is .060" on stock plugs (R45LTS6) for 90 coupe? --Tom
  3. For CD/Radio schematics and wiring, please see: http://www.reatta.net/faq.html#CDPLAYERS --Tom
  4. Any metal body seam encroachments from the leather? Lamps and hood operate without mechanical binding from the Bra? --Tom
  5. Padgett, Noticed a while back that you run a bra on yours. I've have a used one that I have yet to install. Now that we're finally here in Ocala,, Florida, 2x/year bug attacks have left our 2001 Lesabre with a temporary covering (until I get our and hand wash the flying residue off the grill). I thought that of the few times I do take the 90 coupe out, a bra would help. The bottom line question - does the permanent Bra installation on the Reatta have long-term affects? Will there be a scarring, pitting, or other slight damage done to the hood and lamp areas using the Bra at highway speeds? Does wind movement scratch or destroy the thin protective wax covering? Pros - Cons? Thoughts? --Tom (although addressed to Padgett, thought I'd copy the group here for comments)
  6. Ok... Would it also be wise just to R/R the plugs and wires at the same time? --Tom
  7. I need help - Attempting to find the solution to my sluggishness at low RPM, I'm going to start with the coil. I searched this forum but have many coil options (Jacobs, Accel, GM, HEI, NAPA, etc etc). Does anyone have a low-cost, yet high performance coil pack part number and price? Thanks. --Tom
  8. I'm sure that this has been asked before... but do you have a diary/written log of what you did, where you did it, how you found it, what problems/abatements took place etc? This is history in the making and I'm sure that many will benefit from clear/concise documentation. After all, isn't paper the first thing you look for in the 'head'? --Tom
  9. Thanks to Barney, is now posted at www.reatta.net. --Tom
  10. Over the past year, since we've been in the mainland, my 90 seems to cough and spit under load with regular gas. Premium produces a more smoother ride under load with no discernable hesitation. Previous three years in Hawaii seemed to be ok on regular gas. Got any ideas? --Tom
  11. Barney, Certainly - pass the updated DB this way and I'll post. --Tom
  12. I really wasn't going to comment, since I'm basically non-committal on most things, but sitting here reading through all the [eloquent] postings re: registering/not-registering, it caught my eye. What I don't see is a basic, fundemental discussion board guideline on reading, and posting. Perhaps I missed it on the registration porcess There are many internet boards that I belong to, some require registration, others don't. Obviously, there are pros and cons to both sides. Perhaps we could get the thoughts and comments from the guy who REALLY makes this all happen. Peter, could you, would you, give us your ideas and thoughts about this? I would surmise that given the current structure of the board (no required registration), that it's meant to be 'free-and-open'? Just a casual observation and comment. --Tom
  13. Yes, Wally, they seem about right. Remember, the 'bar' reading on the IPC is apparently *NOT* linear. I wouldn't put too much stock in the interpretation of bars vs temp. What I *WOULD* do is enter the OBD, and observe ED04. By the way, still waiting for D. L. Mc Crea to come through on his 'water pump bearing' issue. --Tom
  14. Over a year ago on this board, I posted a small observation regarding coolant systems and internal temperatures my 90. Exerpt: ED04 Temp C - Bar Reading on IPC 84 - 12 99 - 1 Bar Right 102 - 2 Bars Right 105 - 3 Bars Right 109 - 4 Bars Right ED04 Temp C - Coolant Sensor Value (in Ohms) 85 - 261 87 - 253 90 - 233 95 - 197 100 - 178 105 - 164 110 - 126 Note that I've seen my IPC Bar Reatout vary +/- 2 or more degrees for a nominal bar reading. This would indicate that the IPC and ED04 sensor are not exactly harmonious, nor are they logrithmic. Also, inasmuch as the IPC Bar Graph provides typical represtentation of the temperature, I would imagine that the readings vary from IPC to IPC, given component values. Regarding the above ED04 and Ohmic values of the sensor, if plotted on Excel, it does exhibit a linear rate. So, at least in my vehicle, the sensor responded with correspondingly less resistance given the rise in temperature. --Tom
  15. Can you post or email me the details of the above "water pump bearing"? I've yet to tackle my hot problem, but this seems like a good check. --Tom
  16. Any resolution to the above? What was the problem? --Tom
  17. Good News! www.reatta.net is near-fully back online - complete with graphics. The database has once again been updated by Barney Eaton as of 27 August. Please let him know if you have any additional changes, adds, etc to the database. To date, he's collected 3,456 out of 21751 vehicles (~16%). Also, please view your vehicle to make sure you've sent him your location data (State/Country). Again, if you happen across a Reatta, you may wish to note the VIN, colors etc for the database. After all, he only has some 18,295 entries to go! --Tom (PS - I've just changed servers, so it may take a few hours to propagate the new IP address)

  21. Ok, try it now. I often don't think, but certainly should, of folks that are 'display challenged' <P>Btw, all I'd need would be a scan of the similar data on 88-89's, and I could turn it into a text html page.<P>--Tom
  22. I *assume* you refreshed your cache?<P>Also, anyone else having this issue? No problem making it smaller, albeit at the expense of the user information on the left pane.<P>--Tom
  23. Not sure about the codes for for 88/89's. If someone wants to scan a page or two from the 88/89 manual, and email it my way, I'll upload them.<P>Per the manual, "SnapShot" (reference ECM) refers to:<P>"Snapshot is a test type that will record all BCM or ECM data and inputs at one instant for review at a later time. The ECM and BCM each have slightly differnt types of snapshot.<P>ECM Snapshot:<P>Selection of the "SNAPSHOT?" test type while in the ECM system level will result in the message "SNAPDONE" being displayed. This message will appear for 3 seconds to indicate that all ECM data and inputs have been stored in memory. After 3 seconds the display will automatically proceed to the first available snapshot test type (ie SNAP DATA). While selecting a snapshot test type, any of the following actions may be taken to control the display.<P>1. Depressing the "OFF" button..." etc etc.<P>--Tom
  24. All...<P>I've completed the initial step by step ECM/BCM diagnostics page at:<BR> <A HREF="http://www.reatta.net/diagnostics/diag_ecm_bcm.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.reatta.net/diagnostics/diag_ecm_bcm.html</A> <P>Please comment regarding content, layout, correctness and any other factor that would benefit the group in this area.<P>--Tom
  25. So, just what exactly does this do? I read the web page, but frankly, didn't want to insert it into my vehicle without some additional technical testimonials.<P>--Tom
