  1. Try Roy Inman at 508 668 7774 or leave message at 508 668 3728 he may be traveling in that area.
  2. Ellie, Upon further research, you are well within your rights to use the term Woodie. "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A woodie can mean: A type of car particularly favoured by surfers. A wooden roller coaster." Ps, I also found it used by young teenager boys in the 50's for something completly different.
  3. Your oil pan may well be pores. I had cleaned a cast aluminum pan by washing it real good with lacquer thinner, and then heli-arced it. When I was done there was a tablespoon of oil that collected in the area of the weld that came out of the aluminum. Many race car engin biulders paint the inside of their engins, and truck transmitions come from the factory with a painted interior. Go for it!
  4. I have a 31 Essex with that option. It bolts on the end of the transition and has its own shift lever. At least that is what someone told me it was, I have never drove it. I will not be using it if someone is interested. Roger
  5. For what it means, Word spell-ck does not reconize Woodie.
  6. Dave, Concerning the price of a can of C oke on the street; I was at the Ferrari international meet at The Breakers Hotel in Fl. in 1990, They had a small bar set up on the grass for drinks. I didn?t know how much the drinks were so I handed the bar keep a twenty so that I wouldn?t be embarrassed asking. A gentleman came up to the bar loudly complaining that his wife had been charged $3.00 for a bottle of water. The bar tender stood stiff and tall and explained "SIR, you are at the Breakers"
  7. Tommy, Nobody biulds a trailer because they need one, They build one because they want to build one. Big difference.
  8. I will allow anyone that wishes to sit in my cars. It is something that I can give that dosn't cost anything. Steven Hawking once toured the Star Trek set and commented that he would enjoy sitting in Capt. Kirks seat. They obliged him. He had a big smile on his face.
  9. My Father always spoke of his machine when he refered to our car. We also used out "lap robe" and viewed it as a normal part of driveing.
  10. Low Retail Value NADA This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".
  11. Wanted to buy,1931 Hudson or Essex Front doors with hinges Roger Walling atruckcollision@charter.net Thank you
  12. In addition to any other lights that you put on the trailer, Make sure you put a yellow signal light an the side about 1/2 way, that is about the hight of that driver eys, that allways drive along side of you just out of reach of your mirrors. Make sure it is bright enough so as to wake him up when you decide to change lanes.
  13. Wanted; 31 Hudson or Essex front doors with hinges Roger Walling atruckcollision@charter.net
  14. NADA price, between $5000 (fair cond.)and $26000 (super super clean driver)
  15. I can remember not too long ago, (1957) that a red lantern had be displayed on a parked car in NY. (In the Albany area) It seemed very strange to me at the time, after all these were "modern cars".
  16. The files are windows Picture .. .wmf files. The virus tries to get you to download anti virus attachnents among others. Search Fox News for the story. "'Extremely Critical Flaw' in Windows Discovered, Already Exploited"
  17. Warning, New virus VERY BAD Posted By: A TRUCK COLLISION SERVICE <atruckcollision@charter.net> Date: Saturday, 31 December 2005, at 1:19 p.m. Microsoft Corp. has issued a security advisory for what Secunia is deeming an "extremely critical flaw" in Windows Metafile Format (.wmf) that is now being exploited on fully patched systems by malicious attackers. The attack works by tricking users into opening malicious ".wmf" files in "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" or by previewing such a file by selecting it in Windows Explorer. The attack can also be triggered automatically when visiting malicious Web sites via Internet Explorer. Think twice before clicking onto any link!!! Go to microsoft official site to read more.
  18. You guys have got to get a new computer! I have cable and it took about 15 seconds to download the trailer.
  19. Note to Dizzy Dale, I meant to say that the roll bar is between the headliner and the roof. It is not visible. It is made of 1" x 2" square tubing 1/8" wall thickness. Not exactly NASCAR, but better than cloth.
  20. I am working on a 1931 Essex, and after looking at the canvas top; I have incorperated a roll bar into the roof under the headliner. I hope no one will mind this "unauthorized" addition. Ps, Seat belts also!
  21. New Law, pasted today in the State of La. (Crushing Cars) "Water-damaged vehicle" means any vehicle, other than an antique vehicle or a vehicle in excess of twenty thousand pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW), whose power train, computer, or electrical system has been damaged by flooding as the result of a gubernatorially declared disaster or emergency and that is a "total loss" as defined in Paragraph (11) of this Section. 18
  22. Wanted; 1931 Hudson or Essex front doors (with piano hinges) Roger Walling Chicopee Ma. 413 592 6001 atruckcollision@charter.net
  23. I had a neighbors goat that would come on my property, and I use to sic my German Shepard named Oliver on him to chase him off. For years after Oliver died, all I would have to say was "Oliver! the Goat!" and the goat was gone.
  24. You should make sure the correct VIN# is on all your paper work for your own peace of mind. 1 If your car is stolen, you won't be able to prove it is yours if the VIN# is not correct. 2 If it is wrecked, your insurance company will decline the claim because that is not the car that they insured. (That?s the first thing an appraiser looks for on a claim) 3 You could even have your cat towed by a zealous police officer because the registration does not match the car.
  25. Lacquer may be sprayed legally as a specialty coating now. The only problem is where do you buy it? It can be sold if you find someone who stocks it as a specialty coating. Spraying into a rag may be nice (but illegal) but by law, you then must put the rag into a sealed container for disposal.
