  1. You could start with the #3 value of the car and see what you have to buy to put it in that shape. Then you have to decide if your labor is something that you want to put a price on, or if it is going to be a labor of love. If you add the two together and get approximately the same cost as the value, then it is worth saving. There is a reason a car is worth $30,000.00. You probably have that much into it! Any bad chrome can be re-done, its just a matter of how much you want to spend.
  2. I think what you have posted are the schematics for Barry?s Toy Box Trailer.
  3. No disrespect intended, but if you don't have the knowledg to remove it, get some one who knows how to do it. There are a lot of things to do when the pan is dropped.
  4. The 1927 1928 Dodge Brothers sedan on e-bay is defiantly not Rat Rod material. In order to make it presentable for Rat Rod "restoration" you would have to burn it first, in order to give it some texture and class. (It probably would make a better pick up or maybe even a nice stretch limo with an open top for the driver.) Don?t forget the orange paint! (;o)
  5. See if you can buy the camper on the back and you will be half way done with the project! Lots of luck! I am actually thinking of taking an Econoline "Frame and chassis' and building a 1924 open "C" cab truck with weathered used lumber just for the fun of it. The world does not have to be a serious place to live!
  6. I'AM QURIOUS, CAR YOU REGISTER THE SINGLE SEATER MODEL FOR USE ON THE STREET?
  7. The Conspicuity tape is only required on 50% the length, (where required) which means that you could remove every other red and white piece of tape on the sides and not have one complete line the full length of the trailer. This saves on the cost of the tape and (to me) looks better.
  8. Cadillac serial numbers matched the motor numbers and were used for all license, insurance and identification purposes. For 1946, 47 & 48 they were located on the righthand side of the engine crankcase, just above the water pump, and on the right frame side member, behind the motor support.
  9. As usual, Google comes to the rescue once again. The Flxible Company, (1913-1995), was a motorcycle sidecar, funeral car, ambulance, intercity coach and transit bus manufacturing company based in the United States which went out of business in 1995.
  10. The best thing to do for your wife is to buy her a new refrigerator in antisipation of all the hard work that she will be doing! Ps, the old refrigerator will probably just fit in the corner of the garage and be useful for the storing of beer.
  11. If you suspect that a car is of a certaint year and model, simply type in the name into Google and it will give several sites to see a picture of that car.
  12. I have found the secret of all secrets on cleaning dark or rusty chrome. "Oven Cleaner"!!! (Yellow label) It will brighten the rustiest chrome in a about 5 or 10 minuets. Apply a good coat of paste wax when you are done. DO NOT GET IT ON A PAINTED SURFACE. (UNLESS YOU WANT TO REMOVE THE PAINT, WHICH IT DOES VERY WELL)

  15. If the valves close on 4 cylinders wouldn?t that create a vacuum on those cylinders and accumulate oil in them as well take power to do so?"
  16. Not to be overly sensitive but, don?t you thing that if you introduce yourself and give a reason for your move and ask if anyone could help you might get a little better response? All you did is post "what you need". A little chitchat would go a long way. I don?t mean to be personal, but I see this type of posting a lot, as if someone must help you; and you don?t have time to waste in writing an interesting post.
  17. Praise The Lord, you?ve seen the light! It won't be long before you will be dreaming orange!
  18. That sure is one car that will never get a 350 stuffed into it!
  19. 1964 Impala 4 dr Hardtop NADA value, aprox. $4,075 For that price, why don't you keep it in memory of your brother?
  20. Friar Tuck, It would be much cheaper to make them out of 1/2" square tubing and plug weld them to 1&1/2" flat stock. You could then seam seal the contact areas and you won't know that it is two pieces. Roger
  21. Thank you for responding, I have found a pair of rear doors that I will re-skin the bottom. Roger
  22. Hydrofluoric acid will "bite" into glass and alum for a better grip.(something like fine sandblasting)
  23. A friend of mine had a "65" in as nice of condition and it was hit by a third party. Their insurance company totaled it and tried to pay him $720.00. They said that that was the book value and not another dime! Fortunately, he had it insured for $5000. (in 1990) and they paid up, crying all the way. Moral, get it appraised and insured for the full value to protect your self from some SOB insurance company.
  24. Ok, Your lights work, Now try the signal lights and I will give it a A+.
  25. John, Nice 2003 F-250 towing your "boat" Now I know why the chicken was crossing the road!
