Is DuPont paint with 10 year warranty worth
Deadpurpledog replied to Deadpurpledog's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Joe. I’m not a painter. . .not even close. I’m trying to learn what I should ask for from the painter and know what not to accept. -

Thanks everyone! Seems there’s agreement that prep is critical. What are the stages of prep, please? Where variables exist with each stage, which choice is best? What’s important after paint application? -
No. Clear over new paint.

Painter says it’s a 10-year warranty against fading, pealing or chipping backed by DuPont. Haven’t seen a written warranty yet. . Meeting with them tomorrow. Will check for warranty information online. -

Riviera rectangular sign under glove box

Sure. Here’s the part. Still shiny with a few blemishes. Do you have same issue and/or know of a reasonable repair? -
Requested responses and one person replied. Thought the price was reasonable. As you can see, rust is gone and most of the paint is also gone. . .the residual is soft and should be easy to remove. Then. . .simple primer and paint.

I’m sure it would feel better. . .perhaps more modern. Would that help protect it from further deterioration?
-
Found one. Looked terrible. Couple weeks in lime away and almost looks like new!
-
Interesting. Don’t think that’s my issue. . .yet, who knows?
-
At thoughts. Think I’ll leave wheel alone and tackle larger crack on the hub. Even if it ends up being a slightly different color it’ll be difficult to compare with wheel in the way. Thanks again!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Your collegiality and vast knowledge helps and makes me happy very, very often.

Can additives really help? - “stop leak” products

Do you recall the product’s name, Rata Road? -
could use some loving care. . . .mostly with the chrome frame. Has anyone found a way to restore? If so, was it removable?

Experiencing seal leaks and considering having them replaced. Before going to this expense, am wondering what your experiences are with “stop leak” products. If helpful, are some better than others? -
Please provide more information re why so difficult to put back together, edinmass. What are the challenges?
-
Thanks Pfeil. You and others are preparing me with lots of questions to help insure a good outcome.

You always offer such practical, meaningful & complete suggestions, RIVNIK. I’ve reconsidered. Mine has a couple hairline cracks which are barely visible and a larger crack on the “hub” which is not visible to driver. Otherwise, looks like new. Now understanding how hard they are to find or fix, will be standing pat.

What are symptoms for Riviera running to rich?
Deadpurpledog replied to Deadpurpledog's topic in General Discussion
Really helpful. . .thanks Joe. -
Thanks! Mine has a couple of hairline cracks with significant cracks under the steering wheel(hub). Not visible unless you look and sounds as though there aren’t any easy fixes. Please contact me if you know of someone who can repair.
