  1. Thanks EmTee. I have no idea, CarbKing. All I know is that it was leaking gas and it was instantly vaporizing on the engine. How can anyone know on a 55 year old car if it has the original/correct carb unless they purchased it new?
  2. Thanks RIVNIK. I am always amazed with the collegiality demonstrated on this site. There must be thousands of blue steering wheels sitting in rusting cars somewhere, don’t you think? Don’t have much experience with this. Do you know if there is a junk yard association listing that might help with contacting them?
  3. Don’t know. Am going to carb shop Monday. More “news at 11”.
  4. Not heavily, however, don’t like the mess and will replace. Are there other things I should address while vehicle is apart, please?
  5. Thanks! Gears shift effortlessly, yet hard to determine what acceleration can be until Carb problem resolved.
  6. There is “soot”. When I start it up, both exhausts create a black circle. Guess the good news is that compression must be ok!
  7. “Original” carb had hole in front. Tried high temp epoxy which did not work. Mechanic ordered replacement.
  8. Recently replaced carb and don’t believe mechanic was very familiar with them. Symptoms I’m experiencing include: gasoline smell, hesitation when punched & occasional miss(recently tuned). May I have your thoughts, please?
  9. Cruised at 70-75 this week. Temp didn’t increase and no strange noises. Don’t feel a need to go any faster with Riviera.
  10. Ooops. . .auto correct. Meant to say replated.
  11. Please reply with referrals for external chrome replating and internal plastic part replating, if that can be done, in Las Vegas.
  12. Seeking blue 67 Riviera original steering wheel in excellent condition.
  13. Was 3.42 automatically included with posi, please?
  14. Thank you for taking the time to provide such a usable reply, Barney! I can't get over how helpful. . . selfless. . . everyone is on this site.
  15. Is there a way to refinish these when the chrome finish has faded, please?
  16. Isn't it difficult to imagine they would have knowingly built a "luxury" cruiser incapable of cruising at normal speeds? Sure it isn't something else?
  17. You should write a book/books, EmTee. The breadth & depth of your knowledge is truly impressive. Thank you!
  18. Have a 67 Riviera with manual buckets. Seat back seems to have only one position and seat doesn’t move Dick ward very far. I’m 5’10” and it works, however, I’d think those much over 6” might be cramped. Questions. . . Is there a way to adjust seat back? Is it possible the track is somehow blocked or is this how they were manufactured? Thanks!
