The United Motors (Delco) radio pb's were set by tuning to a station manually and then pulling on the individual one until fully extended and the pushing it in. You can pull it out and then tune and push it it. It will work the same. This is provided they are not frozen.

First have any modifications regarding voltage been done to the car? That is; is kit still 6 v?
You're going to have difficulty finding parts for the head unit to restore as original since it's been stripped unless you find a replacement.
A lot to consider although the console part is there as well as what it will take to get that part of it working.

Basically there is just one wire the power and a plug for the speaker. 6 volt positivbe ground where negative side of the battery feeds power to it. The case and chassis is the + side of the battery. If it has a mechanical vibrator in the radio + or - doesn't matter. If the vibrator is solid state you could blow it by reverse poolarity.
