  1. I was looking for months for a Ford pickup to buy in France, and I just saw my Riv' by chance while searching in classified ads, and just told me "I want it!". The day after, it was mine! These are the pictures on the ad I saw this day
  2. My 67 was 6 in the US, but the french title (grey card) is only 5 even with the bench seat in front.
  3. Ok, mine is not that bas after all!! As I'll work on the body painting after fixing the engine, I'll repair this and solder a clean metal sheet
  4. I finally removed All the front, as I will also work on the body painting during the winter. Also found an hidden hole under a riveted metal sheet, under the battery compartment
  5. Hello, I'll start to remove the engine of my 67 this weekend. I've already removed engines on european cars, but this will be my first V8. What are the best steps to do it? I tried to find in the chassis manual, but I didn't
  6. I think they have moved their website to another system, but it is totally bugged. I try to get an answer from them to order parts but I didn't have any feedback for days now.
  7. I have changed the pinion angle already after I changed all the U-joints. As the car has been lowered by the previous owner, the angle was bad when I bought the car. I have to check the documents I have to see if something has been done in the transmission by the previous owner. I did not check anything on it for the moment. The engine is 66000 miles, so must be the transmission. Any particular things to check?
  8. Wheels and tires are new, just balanced and checked. No problem there. And I don't feel any vibrations in the steering wheel. I feel it like shaking all the car. I don't know what has been done on the car by the previous owner. The engine is supposed to have been rebuilt, but there's no vibration if it is on neutral even if I take it at 1500 rpm
  9. Hi EmTee, I have already replaced, one year ago, all the U-joints, and the center bearing because of that problem. It starts to vibrate at around 60mph The problem doesn't come from my wheels, they've all been replaced and balanced. I made marks on each part before to replace the U-joints to be sure to keep the right phasing angle, and I even checked if it was correct using the chassis repair manual. I didn't see any missing weights. What else could cause vibrations?
  10. Hi all, I am reopening that discussion as I still have vibrations, even after replacing the CV joints I went to a machine shop, but it is complicated in france to find a place where they have the good adapters to install the shaft. The problem here is the front channeled part. I would need the same part as the rear, with a 4 screw plate to temporary replace the channeled part and install it in the machine. Has someone got that part as spare I could buy? Shipment would be to texas as I visit my family in 2 weeks
  11. I will reinstall all the air conditioning system in my 67 (removed by one of the previous owners) and we can't find R12 in France anymore. They've put on the market the Duracool 12A, which replaces R12 and R134a, so i'll probably test it.
  12. Passion has no nationality 😉
  13. There are a few stores in France, but the price of the parts is 3 or 4 times the price you pay in the US. The sellers in france take advantage on the fact that a lot of French people don't speak english and won't try to buy online. Shipments are really expensive when leaving directly by plane to France. Now I work with a french transport company installed in CA. The parts I order are shipped to their adress and they put them in a container. It takes one month, but it is very economical. Ex: disc brake kit shipped by POL to france: $1000 shipment one palette of parts shipped by boat, including the brake kit, air conditioning evaporator + dryer, suspension rebuild kit and other part : $500 shipment And this is really the best calculated way to save money when you live in France
  14. I really would like to go to a nearby store to do my shopping, but I live in France, and you can't find American cars parts there, and even less for 50 years old American cars. Every time I order parts, it costs me an eye just for shipment cost, so I prefer to buy a kit than part by part.
  15. The shocks have been replaced 4 years ago (according to the invoices I had from the previous owner)
  16. Hello all, I had a flat tire problem during the weekend on my 67 and the two front tires are showing a big deterioration at the inside. ( tires dead in 3000 miles) I knew I had problems in the direction and I already planned to rebuild the suspension during the winter. I ordered this kit, but are there any other parts I would have to check that are not included? https://stores.a-resto-parts.com/products/1967-1968-buick-electra-riviera-wildcat-new-front-end-suspension-rebuild-kit.html
  17. Hi Ross, I had the same problem. I just took the motor out, opened it and completely cleaned it. Removing old sticky grease for new grease, cleaning oxyded contacts and brushes. This solved the problem. So I did it for all the windows.
  18. Hello all, I will visit my family in October in Houston. As I don't come very often in the US, I wondered if someone could advice me where to go shopping for my 67 Riviera
  19. I have contacted scarebird too, but they don't have parts for a full kit right now. I also checked Jamco, and sent them an email, but I got no answer from them
  20. Hi everyone! Has anybody already heard about these kits? https://discbrakeconversionkit.com/buick-riviera-front-and-rear-disc-brake-conversion-with-power-brake-booster-combo/
  21. Or even 1 or 2 " dropped, I just need to know what is the height corresponding
  22. Really? Nobody has a non dropped 67 ?
  23. Hello all, I need to buy new springs for my rivi 67, and I want to keep the same height I don't know if the springs installed by previous owners are the origin height or dropped. I measured the height between ground and fender, can someone tell me what he has on original configuration? I get 640mm (25 inches)
