Thank you for all the input folks. I decided it's not the car for me I really want a 37 or 38 and while this car would be fantastic the wood inner structure is something I don't want to deal with. The seller dropped the price down to $8,500 which given the condition and the fact that it runs and drives like a very good price.

It runs and drives but the brakes need attention. It would be a stress free driver. I'm not in a restoration type income bracket.

I've never seen one of these before and have the opportunity to buy a very solid example. Is this model unique or special?

Unfortunately these cars earned the nickname termite cars due to the overabundance of wood used in them.

Unfortunately nobody makes the interior for the post cars. However I live not far from SMS auto fabrics in Canby Oregon and they have the factory interior materials and will custom make door panels and seat upholstery

My next project is a 1965 Buick GranSport thin pillar coupe with a factory 3 speed manual. Its a pretty rare configuration with only 405 3 speed post cars manufactured. The transmission is a ford top loader.

Made a lot of progress in the last 6 months.

Don't see 36 Buick coupes often.

interested in a complete 37-38 Special Coupe or possibly a 41 Super Coupe. 37-38 LaSalle Coupe would be an option as well. budget is 20k

I had a fellow Buick guy who is very familiar with 66-67 Buicks go take a look at the car and send me pictures and video. I made an offer based on that information and the seller declined. I paid the guy $100 to check out the car for me and saved 6 times that by not taking a day off work and driving out there for the same result.

The car is 6 hours from me but unfortunately it's extremely difficult for me to get away right now due to work

first and foremost is the car as represented in the advertisement. I would expect them to provide pictures that dont hide flaws. in fact with this particular car i'm not even concerned about how well it runs and drives.
