  3. THIS IS CLARIFICATION AND A CONTINUATION OF THE CONUNDRUM POST WHERE I HAD 8 BUICKS FROM 1941-1949 THAT WERE LEFT IN THE WOODS 40 YEARS AGO. DRUG THEM HOME AND HAVE THEM OUT IN THE OPEN TO BE ASSESSED. 5 OF THE 8 CARS HAVE TITLES! CAN BE PURCHASED ON A BILL OF SALE AND GIVEN THE TITLE IF SO DESIRED. I WILL PHOTOGRAPH AND DOCUMENT ANY AND ALL ITEMS YOU DESIRE TO SEE. PRIVATE MESSAGE ME HERE AND I WILL CONTACT YOU! O.K. - here is what I have so that everyone is up to speed: 1949 Roadmaster Riviera Hardtop Dynaflow style number 494737X Model 49-78R - Sweepspears(side trim) gone. Rear window outside trim, Gone Grill is probably a 7 out of 10 - some pitting on both sides but not terrible. Driver's side grill, no cracks, simply pitted. Passenger side grill pitted, scratched - two cracks. No motor, no transmission. Rear end is there. Had four hydraulic windows - two rear hydraulic mechanisms there. All inside roof stainless trim is there. Inside rear window trim is there. Was a beautiful car. Trunk lid appears solid. Hood solid/workable. Nothing in the interior will be useable as it has not had windows in probably 40+ years. Window trim is excellent Headliner bows there. Seats are there and good for a core - most of the material is there on the driver's seat! Last on the road in 1971 from what I can tell in the paperwork. 5. I felt horrible cutting up the Riviera Hartop yesterday to get parts off of it. Was such a beauty. Then I looked at the odometer...Can that be correct? Zoom in on the pedals...I found the license plate tucked behind the grill as the one on the rear bumper is illegible. Last on the road in 1956 if the plate is correct.
  6. Serial number is 14052200 in case anyone wants to know that. Body Tag: 1941 MOD 47 OK Style No: 41-4269 Body No: 1015 or 1013 (hard to read) Trim No: 902 Paint No: 562
  7. I have - for parts OR WHOLE - a 1941 Buick Model 47 Special Touring Sedan Car is almost complete and was parked outdoors in the mid to late 60's. WHOLE CAR: Floors gone. Rockers gone. Damage on passenger side door and fender.Left grill broken, right grill intact and a good core. I have the grill center with a cool emblem on it on my mancave wall...if it is really wanted, let me know. The driver's side fender and an extra pasenger side front door are included with the complete car - Complete car includes a set of fender skirts and compound carb system. Hood is useable. One headlight door. One bent fender spear could be repaird (p-side) I can help load here. The Left grill is shattered and gone. Car was driven to where it sat. Interior has seat frames and a complete dash and most glass was in it all this time. Car has a 1961 Iowa title! $1200 or best offer for full car. That covers the carb set up and the fender skirts. Compound carburation system Both carbs, the manifolds, the linkages, the tin, the breather - everything is there. It is a COMPLETE COMPOUND CARBURETION SYSTEM for a 41 Buick that is in need of restoration. The carbs will need freed up. Surface rust on the tin, and it will be packaged carefully with everything marked. Fuel lines to carbs and everything including the linkages to make this system work. I have all but 1 of the manifold bolts out of the head - it is ready to slide off the engine with the turn of a wrench. $700 or BEST OFFER I will get pictures of the air cleaner and remainder of the tin that is for this system. It is all there. Car has a set of restorable fender skirts - both have the base stainless in good shape, the metal has surface rust on it. BOTH of the skirts have damaged potmetal (looks like a towel or pant leg may have caught on one of the spears at some point) Very restorable. $500.00 or best offer
  8. Adding some pictures may help!! This car has a title and is available whole as it sits if there is interest. Engine and trans were running when parked and are, as of today, complete. Again: Floors are gone, hit in front and rear - I have the original fender off the car - damage is all ahead of the front tire and above the frame. You can see that the front bumper barely has damage, Rear bumper is trashed though I have another one. Left rear fender looks re-pairable, has gravel shield in place. Tail lights are there and not smashed. Door handle on driver's door broken.
  9. Yeah...need to get the file sizes down on my camera phone. Sorry everyone!
  10. Located in Cedar Rapids, we have a 1949 Roadmaster sedanette that was the victim of an accident decades ago and relegated to the woods. The good: 320 is complete with automatic and the rear end. Front seat is a usable core. Rear seat was there prior to housing a rodent Spring Break for 40 years! Both doors are workable. Trim around windows is great, quarter trim is gone. Ahead of the fenders: trim is straight on both sides, hood is decent. Has skirts! Dash is meh. The bad: hit on passenger side front and rear. Both bumpers bent. Floors gone. Grill destroyed. Asking $900 for all or best offer. For whatever reason, pictures won't load, pm me your cell number and I will send you images. Please note: this car is a dream car of mine, it will kill me to chop it up!
  11. Sorry, these are located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. If you want the trim off the car, I would cut around it to not break any clips.
  12. Well, I dug them out and got them to the shop. The cars are for sale whole first, then they will be offered for parts. This is a 1949 Riviera Hardtop and it is best described as a parts car. No floors, and has not had any glass in it for going on four decades. All of the potmetal is pitted, although I feel it is pretty good considering. Seat frames are in the car. Floors are gone. No motor. I will help load the car if you desire to pick it up. The other option is take whatever you want from the car and leave the carcass for the crusher. I will help in any way necessary to get what parts you need off the car if you just want to take them with you and leave the body behind. There is a shop here and we can work indoors if you choose to strip the car here. If you chose to take it home, I can help you load. I will be adding pictures as we go here. I will take $1,000 or best offer on this car. Talk to me - I drug these home to try and save them! Somebody HAS to need parts from this car!
  13. I have a parts car for this one if anyone needs it! I truly hope this car is restored. Such a great story and a beautiful car when done!
  14. Anyone want to guess why I was excided when I opened the rear door on the 1941 Sedan? There is a little spot of rust on the one, however, I will clean them up and get a better shot of them for all of you! Anyone looking for a set of COMPLETE 1941 Buick Fender Skirts?
  15. Update: my conundrum became my reality this weekend. All of the cars are now out of the woods and in my parking lot at work. At this time, my plan of attack is to cut up the four cars that I have deemed to be too far gone to be of value to anyone. I am going to offer folks here first shots at anything left on the 8 cars. Personally, I'd prefer to sell cars whole to people here rather than attempt to piece them out. I will accept reasonable offers for the cars. I will post each one here in the coming days under the for sale section. Buy the whole car of or show up here and take what you want off and i'll scrap the carcass. I have an area indoors to pull the cars in to work on them and can load them. I have until the end of August to sell them or part them out and have them gone. The cars are, in order of value: 1941 Buick super sedan with complete dual carb intake, 1949 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Hardtop, 1949 Buick Roadmaster Sedanette, 1947-48 Buick Roadmaster Sedans, 1949 Buick Roadmaster sedan, and 1948 Buick Super Sedan. Again: pictures of the cars as well as a description will be posted in the coming days. What does not sell here goes to fleabay. Then hotrodders, then the junk man cometh! Thanks everyone.
  16. I will check if mine are Carters...they may be Quadrajets
  17. On the topic of mission creep...I failed to heed advise and pulled the motor and transmission as I found multiple leaks and the clutch disk was frozen to the flywheel. The throwout bearing could NOT get any more crunchy if it tried. So, I have now placed the engine on the stand and have it steamed off. All of the accessories are going to be cleaned and checked over, painted, and put back on the engine so that we can detail all of the parts before it goes back in. Further, I am going to add a filter kit to the oil system as this car has never had an oil filter on it. Of the seven parts cars I have bought, a couple of the engines have oil filters on them. Seems like they were accessories?!? Beyond that, seats are being pulled apart, repainted, and the burlap parts are being replaced around each coil spring, then the seats reassembled. Tedious work. Keeps me away from the television at least. Also, it is at this point where my family is pushing me to do a color change to Sequoia Cream over the Burgundy/maroon. Anyone have any feedback on that idea? Am I hurting the value much by going to cream over the maroon exterior?
  18. Well, we have had torrential rain here since I purchased the cars...getting there has been impossible. I am going to look into another means of moving the cars without hurting them more than the elements already have. Hope to make progress this week on this.
  19. In for a penny... in for 32,000 pounds. Tonight I secured all eight cars from the field, buying them in place with plans to move all 8 to my office for parting out. From the notes on the paperwork and titles, most of the cars arrived where they sit back in 71/72. They have been sitting since before I was born! The 49 sedanette and sedan have titles. The 49 Riviera Hardtop was purchased as a builder... for $5.00. Attempts were made by letter to locate glass for the car, however it never happened, so it sat. Goes to show how difficult the hobby was compared to today. In less than 10 minutes I can photograph parts and have them in the eyes of interested parties the world over. My plan is to move the cars and offer the opportunity for them to be purchased whole. If the interest is not there, I will offer them as individual parts on request. At the end of June, whatever remains of the lot will be sent to scrap. I'm hoping for very little to be left. All of these, except the Riviera, were driven to their final resting place. Some notes included "a shimmy at 55" on the sedanette... bought for $10 back in '72. I will keep everyone abreast of the recovery efforts.
