  1. And post #23 gives the correct NAPA brake light switch number for DOT 5 fluid SL 142
  2. Not sure if this will help but I have had cast iron exhaust manifolds ceramic coated on the outside. Don’t know why you couldn’t do the inside.
  3. What is the proper (or best) way to attach the trim pieces that surround the door windows? The ones on my REO appear to be glued with contact cement. It’s an older restoration (25+ years) and some of them are coming loose. I tried a fine wire staple but it sticks out like a sore thumb.
  4. The distributor on my 32 REO has the grease cup on the side. There is a spring with a rubbing block against the shaft in the housing and the rubbing block is worn down to the point where the spring is starting to touch the shaft. Is this something I can make or is it something special?
  5. What is the procedure for flushing out the brake system when changing from DOT 3 to 5? Thanks, Steve
  6. Since your traveling from Tulsa to Memphis you will pass near the Museum of Automobile http://www.museumofautos.com/ in Morrilton, Arkansas. It’s been many years since I’ve been there but it it had a nice collection. It’s in a state park and there’s a CCC lodge there if your looking for an overnight stay off the beaten path. https://www.arkansasstateparks.com/parks/petit-jean-state-park In Memphis there’s Graceland (Elvis’s home) https://www.graceland.com/sitemap.aspx, Beal Street, Memphis Music Hall of Fame http://memphismusichalloffame.com/, Nashville has the Country Music Hall of Fame https://countrymusichalloffame.org/, the Lane Motor Museum https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/. It’s winter here so bring warm clothes. Wind chill this morning in NW Tennessee is 16 degrees F (-8 C). If if you have time to detour come on up to Union City, TN and visit Discovery Park of America https://discoveryparkofamerica.com/. Steve
  7. What are you interested in seeing? Cars, museums, historical sites, Elvis, music? Give us some hints.
  8. I used the copper nickel line for brakes and fuel on the REO I’m rebuilding. It’s DOT approved, bends easily by hand and flares easily too.
  9. Standard procedure for disconnecting a battery is to remove the ground connection first. My question is do you switch the ground circuit or the hot circuit or does it really matter? Steve
  10. You might want to consider changing the name of your post to something more descriptive like “automatic transmission for 48 Dodge question “
  11. Thanks Matt, I don’t spend much time on eBay but as per your suggestion I looked around over there and found some lights. Steve
  12. Looking for a source for a pair of 6 volt lights similar to the ones pictured. These appear to be new manufacture.
  13. Well I don’t have one of those laying around. Looks like I need to make a few yard sales. ?
  14. Real Steel, where’d you get the recessed plate the switch is mounted in. Steve
  15. How do I order? email s_vaughn@bellsouth.net Steve
  16. What’s involved? What size diode do I need?
  17. 1932 REO, 6 volt battery under the floorboard. Do you recommend a battery disconnect switch and if so, which one? I’d prefer to not have to open the hood every time to turn off the switch. I have used a latching relay on a motorhome towable but I don’t know if they are available in 6 volt. Steve
  18. Thanks Spinneyhill, I like that better than some of the other options I’ve been considering. Is it weatherproof? I’m thinking of mounting two along the bottom of the trunk rack. Maybe making the two inner half’s running lights and the outer half’s brake and turn lights. Would that be practical?
  19. I would like to duplicate the left side taillight on the right side. 1932 REO Model S. I think 33’s are the same and they had lights on both sides. Need light and stantion. Would consider a matching pair.
  20. I would love to duplicate the light on the right side. I’ll do a wanted post to see if anything pops up. Wiring is not an issue. I’m rewiring the car now and have already made provisions for right side lights. Just have to decide what to put there. Steve
  21. Need two for 1932-33 REO Model S with wire wheels. Other models may be the same. Wood spoke type with logo are too tall to fit under wheel cover. Steve
  22. For all you guys and gals that tour, especially with cars with only one tail light. What’s the recommended way to add or improve rear visibility. Steve
  23. Push it 6 more inches dear, just 6 more inches.
