  1. My longtime friend and co-worker had kidney failure about a year ago and has been on dialysis since. He and his Wife live in a large older home and he has always heated with wood. As a matter of fact he typically cuts most of his wood on our property. Well he had a kidney transplant about 10 days ago and I was wondering what we could maybe do to help the old boy out. He had mentioned a while back that his woodpile was getting slim so "AHA", we knew what we needed to do! My good buddy Scott showed up with his 17 year old nephew's mid-eighties Chevy dump truck and we hauled two loads to my friends house. He doesn't need it now of course but it'll help get him set for next winter. It was fun getting all the thumbs up as went and did our good deed.
  2. The better set with the "V" in the bar are Guide Tiltray. They say it around the back "point" of the buckets and at the top of the lenses. The other had Parabeam on top of the buckets. The buckets looked like Chevy to me but not the bars.
  3. Wondering what these headlights and bars might fit. Top one had a pronounced "V" in it.
  4. And before you get to Craig, please stop by II (eye-eye) 8-10. I have an assortment of good stuff to bring, some pre-war such as headlights, a few grille shells, assortment of jacks, horns and accessory heaters.
  5. Yep, he's sitting in the new roadster. I need to get that thing out and clean it up and get it going. He wants a ride real bad! I think I'll put him in the rumble seat. You never know where he'll turn up. The old guys we camp with hate it when they find him in the porto-pot in the middle of the night! Sorry for the thread hijack. Back to our regularly scheduled program........................
  6. That sounds great! Boney, the dead mechanic and I are always hanging around in the evenings after the crowds simmer down.
  7. I think the car looks great and it apparently runs great now too. I applaud them simply for having it out driving the wheels off of it! When I retire (6 more years!) and have the time, health and means (hopefully) to travel I can only hope to have the chance to hang out with people like this. They are obviously having a ball and who wouldn't want to be part of that? I've only met a few of you guys that post here regularly but being on here almost daily you kind of get to know people without having met them. There's a bunch of you that I'd be proud to hang out with and quite frankly Ed and company would be at the top of the list. It's obvious they are in this hobby to have fun. Three cheers!
  8. Do you have a photo of one you can post?
  9. No Tripe! What kind of hole-in-the-wall dump doesn't serve tripe!! Your dinner date looks a bit bewildered looking at his plate. Did he find a hair? Is that a cockroach I see in the background chewing on a antacid tablet?
  10. This is now posted in the for sale section. FYI
  11. Post photos please, it helps with obnoxious comments. 😁
  12. Yeah, yeah, I've heard that before Bob...........🙄 Your rim is patiently awaiting your arrival. I told it not to worry that the new owner would come sooner or later. 😁 Seriously, like I told you, no rush.
  13. If a person is going to do much of any type of selling that sort of thing just comes with the territory. Thankfully in the past 10 years those types of buyers I've encountered I could count on one hand. Next week at Carlisle on the other hand it'll be interesting to see how many times I hear "I'll be back", and "can yaz do bedda?". That comes with the territory too. Just smile and move on. 🙂
  14. Perfect timing! I've been looking for something to put in the garden this summer to keep the pests away! 😃 All kidding aside, I do enjoy reading these guys posts and they are both not only knowledgeable but helpful too. Looks like they're having a great time!
  15. This is not good news obviously. What has gone wrong? Covid? Weather? Poor management? We need these swap meets to not only survive but to thrive or else we'll all become couch potatoes and do all our "swapping" online. It'll be interesting to see how Spring Carlisle is in a couple of weeks. Hopefully full, busy and thriving.
  16. Ray, as someone already mentioned Carlisle seems to be heavily weighted toward 50's thru 70's cars and parts. Parts for tri-five Chevy and 60's era stuff is plentiful. There will be some early parts there but they will be sparse. I found a NOS '27 Dodge front fender there once so anything is possible. I will even have a few nickel-era parts for sale. Hershey is definitely the place to be for pre-war parts though.
  17. The other bumper sticker reads "We brake for buffets and restrooms".
  18. Four older men with spastic colons traveling in a vehicle with one small toilet would be my biggest concern. Don't let them park near any storm sewers!
  19. Open to offers if anyone can use these pistons. Can deliver to Spring Carlisle.
  20. I just got a call from a friend who is at the Autofair today and he's telling me that attendance of vendors in the fields and car corral is WAY down. Possibly because it's early on and things will maybe (hopefully) pick up tomorrow? It'll be interesting to hear from others that made the trek. I was hoping to go but just couldn't swing the time away this week.
