  1. That's what I plan on too. I hope when I get my back cover I ordered it will be steel. Though the old style pump I sent back has a steel cover it also has a pin hole that's leaking water through.
  2. My original 35 40 series water pump which has the flange nut and oil caps looks like it had a different impeller( more fins) than a replacement one I got that has the self lubricating bearings without the 1 1/8" nut. Both will fit. My question is will the earlier pump water better than the other later one or are they the same? Like you might know from my other blog my replacement newer style pump came with an aluminum cover plate which was corroding.
  3. I think I've located the drop coming from a very small hole on the back of the cover plate so I shipped it back today.I could probably deal it with something but I'll have them check it out and fix it.
  4. I have two manual shift cars,my 35 Buick and my 74 MGB.Once after driving the MG for a few days I went to drive my Buick.I put it into what I thought was first year but it was really in reverse.Luckily nobody was behind me.My son likes the accelerator starter on the Buick and wondered if he could put one on his old Volkswagon. Many people are amazed at how the Buick starts. Most say I've never seen that before but then most people under 35 have never heard of an MG either.

    Block sealer

Can you get the name of the product? I'll see how the J-B weld holds up.
  17. Thanks,I think I got all the water pump related leaks stoped, hoses and all but now it looks is I have a small pin hole or crack leaking on my water jacket by the #1 cylinder. I dried it well and cleaned it and applied J-B weld and letting it cure 24 hrs. I figure it's worth a try.Good luck with yours.Greg

    Block sealer

I thought it might work from sealing from the inside out. I guess I'm wrong. I think the Florida heat is getting to me. I should say stop leak.
  20. I worked at a helicopter repair facility where we had one Irish o.j.t. students one of which charged a 12 volt battery with 24 volts. Everybody heard a our explosion but no one was injured.
