Definately a scam. If you don't mind paying 20 bucks to find out, you can go on line to an identity finder site. Put in the name and address. If there is a hit, you can buy a full report on the person. Scary detailed.... If the person doesn't come back at all you have your answer without spending the money.

Properly prepped frame being sprayed with POR 15

Seems like there is a lot of misinformation on what POR 15 actually is. First it does not react to rust, it dries in the presence of moisture and forms a seal to keep the ingredients needed for metal deterioration to continue. Effectively moisture is a catalyst similar to how a two part automotive Urethane works. It is far superior at holding out moisture than a single part primer and Rust-Oleum the same that a modern two part urethane paint is far superior to an old air dry enamel. One note. POR 15 contains iso- cyonates. You need to use a respirator when using with plenty of ventilation and should use a supplied air type. I spray por 15 after properly prepping the metal, just like any other paint product. The final product is only as good as the prep.

Looking for a good ring and pinion gear for a 1927 Buick Standard 120 wheelbase. Will buy complete rear end as well as long as ring and pinion are good. Thanks! Lenny

Dave, If it's not already cracking it's likely an enamel paint unless it's always been climate controlled. PPG Deltron was pretty common back. All are acrylic enamal. Keep it out of the sun as much as you can, keep a good coat of wax on it and it should look beautiful 30 years from now. Sun and temp extremes are the killer.

More photos. The engines apart. Have the cylinders honed. In good shape and won't need to be bored. Valve grind is done now just waiting on springs. Crankshaft block and rods on thier way to Hart's Machine in the AM for a little Babbitt work....

Does anyone know a possible source for valve springs. I have a broken inner spring... Thanks for the help... Lenny

Always love the added info here. We will hone the cylinders to start and as of right now it looks like we have the tolerance to reuse the Pistons. If not we will have a new set made. Already made the decision I'm not going to try to retrofit something else. Do it right. Do it once. I have another post with the car under restoration. My goal when done is to have a real original driver that is as reliable as possible for 1927 vintage. I am going to contact the resources contributed and hopefully I'll find the rings!
