  1. I hate to be naive but it is what it is. A number of times here and on other sites there have been titles for sale or titles needed. Is this above board and how does it work. I live in Georgia and none of my older vehicles require titles. They all, however, came with titles from out of state purchases. I doubt that I would "sell" any of the titles in the event that my heirs would be registering or selling outside of Georgia. I am curious how this works though. Thanks for looking. Paul
  2. Thanks Guys: I have the new "lacing". (Thanks for the terminology) Got it from Myers. Looks like under the cowl is best accessed from inside the car so clean up and lace is the project du jour.
  3. Certainly I am using the wrong terminology for these. I have new product and was getting ready to thread it into place when I found additional "something" under the holes in the cowl. Is this some type of insulation or rodent remnants?
  4. Passenger side front door is now, not perfect, but no longer making out with the rear door when opening. The problem with the dovetail being too low was coaxed upward into alignment with a drift punch. The screws would not move and I did not want to take heat to the area due to blistering the paint. It surprisingly took only a few taps. Case closed and on to the next challenge.
  5. Tinidian - I think you and Retired nailed it. I did not read your post until I was ready to post my pictures. I have been able to "re position" , using a small wood block, the passenger side door " a little" I did not go for full correction as the dovetail was already striking the low side of the B pillar opening. I have them corrected enough so that they no longer kiss when opening. See the pictures showing alignment of doors on the B pillar. The first picture is the drivers side and the second is the passengers side. My problem now is the dovetail screws are securely in place after being there for 91 years. They do not want to be disturbed. I WILL PERSEVERE.
  6. Just to add a couple ¢ worth to the grooves discussion and add a point about seals - Mr Hartley makes a great point. I did a lot of HD Truck brake installation training around North America for a major truck component manufacturer. It was always interesting to see the light come on for technicians when an explanation of "one" of the effects lateral movement of oil or grease lubricated shafts was explained. The oil or grease fills the gap between the shaft and the bushing, as long as the tolerances are within spec. Even with only a few thousands of lateral movement this creates a vacuum or sucking effect on the lubricant thus ensuring that the shaft is sufficiently lubricated. Very important to maintain correct clearance, for type of lubricant and shaft size. An improperly installed or worn out cam shaft seal on a HD truck air brake application would also suck/vacuum dirt into the space where lubricant was supposed to be. Very rapid wear resulted. Thus some seals, were, from the factory, installed backward to facilitate purging of grease at PM time and hinder contaminates from sucked it from the outside.
  7. Fortunately 99.9% of deals are above board and completed with two happy parties. However, I never enter into an unknown, in person transaction without Mr. 45 legally out of site.
  8. I think the problem is discovered. Pictures will be posted later and the piece of wood in a door jamb will likely be used as a fix.
  9. Thanks for the comment. I suspect somehow bent hinge. No movement at all when putting some significant lift pressure on the inside bottom of either door.
  10. This sounds a little like what I may be facing. Could you please provide a little more detail on the process. My hinges appear to be riveted to the door so would I have to remove the doors and then pound "adjust" the bottom hinge with the door off. I can see where 3/8" at the bottom of the door would likely only mean a very small amount of adjustment at the hinge point. To answer Bill's question, I have not taken the doors off. They were this way when I got the car. Tinindan, A pillar is solid. I have seen almost no rust or deterioration on this one.
  11. Just eyeballing the bottom hinges on the right side may have a little more space than the driver side. I hope to get more accurate dimensions tomorrow. If that is the case then I guess the hinges would have to be bent to correct. Will post pictures and steps used to correct. All hinge mountings are rock solid.
  12. Nice looking DB but the photographer needs to find the focus adjustment on his camera!
  13. I wondered myself about the body somehow sagging in the middle but frame is real solid on this and the problem is only on the passenger side.
  14. The light switch on the end of the column is claimed. However as I was removing it I noticed the threads on the steering box are damaged. I am sure that affects whatever the value is on this. Please see picture showing threads.
  15. The passenger side doors on my 26 DB kiss at the bottom if both are opened at the same time. The only adjustment I see allows movement in and out from the body. I do not see any adjustment toward the front or back of the car. Greatly appreciated if anyone can shed a little light on this. First picture is doors closed second show interference when opening both at the same time. Paul
  16. The pictures below are what I believe is a battery box from a 29 K DeSoto. $15 plus postage or make an offer. Thanks for looking.
  17. Sorry for not posting prices on this but I really have no idea what it is worth. So let’s say $50 and if that is too much please make an offer. If it is too low then you get a great deal.
  18. Sorry for not posting asking prices on this but I really have no idea what they are worth. So let’s say $75 and if that is too high please make an offer and if too low you get a great deal.
  19. The closest thing Talking Rock has to Birkenstock is "Bart's Bait and Tackle"!
  20. Please see listings in parts for sale if you need clutch components or a steering box for a 1929 K series.
  21. Following are pictures of a steering box from a 1929 Desoto K series. Please PM me if interested. I am not looking for a lot of money for this. It seems to work freely from stop to stop. I backed off the nut to try and remove the column but guess I do not know how. Steering wheel is no good. Column and shaft look to be fine. If you want just the box I can cut off the column or if someone can tell me how to extract it I will do it. It can be picked up in Talking Rock, GA or I will ship by whatever means you choose at exact cost. More parts to come. Thanks for looking.
  22. For sale are a clutch pressure plate and flywheel believed to be from a 1929 Desoto K series. I am open to offers and am not looking for a lot of money. Please send me a PM if you are interested. These can be picked up in Talking Rock, GA or will ship by means of your choice at whatever the real cost is.
  23. Perfect - That is the closest I have seen yet. PS: Can't wait to see the chrome job on that air cleaner! Paul
