  1. I found an ad in a magazine for them. They list years 49-??. Hopefully it's close enough that I can make it work. I'll find out when they get back to me.
  2. Still no luck on a seat cover. I did find that SMS auto fabrics has tan mohair that is correct for 36 @ $129/yd if anyone is looking for fabric
  3. Well I admit I hadn't tried the auto parts store. They usually don't have what I need and no one there seems to understand that cars were around before the mid 50s. I couldn't find those on the internet, but they seem to be Ba9s and Ba15d bases just from measurements. I'm going with LED lights all around (except headlights) to lower current draw and eliminate excess heat.

    Light bulbs

My P2 has Mazda bulbs 55 and 63 for the interior. As best I can tell these are ba9 and ba15 bases. Can anyone confirm that or know of a cross reference? Or is 55 and 63 something different? I can't find much and I'm trying to replace all the bulbs.
  5. I'm in need of a tail light stand for a P2 four door sedan. I really just need the stand, but I'll consider the while thing of I need to. I think the stage are identical but the bad one is left side of it matters. I had one through eBay but they can't find it now!
  6. I found them at Berbaum, not sure why I missed then the first time looking there. Hopefully they work out.

    Seat covers

Siri for the flurry of posts! I had a chance to get some time in on the P2 and probably found more questions than answers and started more projects than I finished! ( But hey, I got that shift knob done!!). Does anyone know a source for slip on seat covers that will fit the P2? Grandpa always had a really cool looking plaid cover on the 47, I'd like something like that that has a period feel to it. But it's a temporary measure untill we get around to redoing the interior (probably a few years), so nothing too expensive.
  8. I could have done that I suppose (paint one), but I was worked about the paint not holding up well. I found a pretty cool looking bakelite knob on eBay a while back but the threads were wrong. I ended up using a coupling nut epoxied into it.
  9. Anyone know what size threads are on the shifter? 5/16-24 is there closest fit I can find, but that only goes on about 6 turns. Perhaps my threads are buggered up? Or is it something besides 5/16-24?

    P2 heater

Anyone know of a source for blower motors? I have a model 15 heater and the wires are VERY brittle. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to replace the wires on it as they are part of the winding. I'm in hopes the RI wire might rebuild it for me, but if not I think I'll need a new source.
  11. Thanks. That's kind of what I figured but didn't want to pull to hard until I knew for sure. It was a little stubborn but came out fine.
  12. Anyone know how to get this open to access the bulb and wire?
  13. I sent them an email with pictures and measurements. Hopefully they will get back to me. I'll need all four as at least one tab broke on all of them.
  14. We finally got around to rewiring the 36. We decided to remove the headlight pigtails as they are in rough shape. When removing the reflectors, the spring clips broke and agent usable any longer. Does anyone know where to find a suitable replacement? We've been looking at the popular vendors including restoration specialties, but hasn't found a match.
  15. I don't have a problem with his policy. His business, his choice. It's good rudeness and righteous indignation. I felt it was no way to treat customers and I would hope others would post similar experiences with vendors.
  16. I'm really not looking for someone to "join my team" as you say. I'm looking for candid feedback on others dealings with him and his business (sounds like a one man show, but I'm not sure). I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt here, maybe he did have a bad week. Similarly, if hope others would post up about it if they have had bad interactions with someone. I'm not sure why it's paranoid and mistrusting to ask about a guarantee and to not like sending a personal check. I've asked several other vendors and all replied respectfully. He could have simply replied that he didn't for whatever reason and only takes checks or money orders. That would have been fine, although not likely to get my business. But instead we went around about how he was offended that I would ask that and I should just trust him. That makes me more suspicious. But again, perhaps it was a bad day/week. So here I am, soliciting feedback on his business. I'm suspicious by nature, but trying hard to get to yes on this. There's too few parts available in this hobby and I hate the idea of writing one off.
  17. As a follow up to my other recent thread. I'm in need of A WORKING temperature gauge or a repair service that isn't $3-400! Also looking for a correct choke knob (brown marbled color) All for a 36 P2 deluxe. Please let me know if you have any leads.
  18. Anyone purchase from Ed at antiquemopar.com (obsolete mopar parts). I've just had a rough run in with him and just curious of others experience. It's got me frustrated because he had two hard to find parts at good prices, but I found him to be a rude and condescending cantankerous man that didn't seem too interested in having a customer. Perhaps I'm overly paranoid and mistrusting but I didn't think it would be insulting to ask for a guarantee of some kind and to prefer PayPal to a personal check when no such guarantee is given. Too much risk. He got offended and the discussion went downhill quick so I opted not to do business with him. I don't want this to just be a flaming season against him, if you've had good experiences I'd like to know. I may have to eat my hat and go back to him at some point. But his reaction makes me mistrust him more (if you get offended when I ask for proof that it works or a guarantee, it sounds a bit fishy).
  19. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a repair service that won't break the bank? The temperature Guage on our p2 is not working. I got a good deal on a Guage set from eBay, that one turns or to be broken as well. So I just need to get it repaired. Any recommendations?
  20. This may sound complicated, but there is a solution. I could not find the column grommet for my 36 either. I ended up using 3d software to create it digitally, then printed it with 3d printer. Using that plastic model I mold a silicon mold and then was able to cast a new part to fit. I going someone with a 3d printed that also helped with the software, so that's a big part of it. But it is doable.
  21. Here's a pic of my P2 and a few others. I don't notice any intention. I'm not near it to go look, can't say I've ever noticed one though. Although my grill is pretty beat up.

    P2 knobs

They do have a stainless ring around them. You can see in this picture, my chipotle knob is a white color while the rest are marbled. Not the greatest pic, but you get the idea.

    P2 knobs

Bit of a pity party here, I recently found an ad for a batch of P2 knobs in the marbled brown color that I need. After exchanging a few emails the gentlemen informed me that someone else has sent him a check. So I missed out 😭. Due to my usually cautious nature, I really wanted pics first to be sure we were on the same page. He had to get someone to help with that and in that time someone else bought them sight unseen. Not the buyers fault at all, purely mine, but I'm kicking myself over this one as you NEVER see the marbled knobs come up! So if you're the individual that bought than and perhaps do not need them all, please contact me!? I could really use at least the choke knob, perhaps a few others. Or if anyone has a line on some I would appreciate it. I've tried several of the major salvage yards and watch Hemmings Motor news and Plymouth bulletin regularly as well as eBay. Thanks!
  24. Yup, as mentioned you have to hammer it into the channel over the fabric. You should have wood spars covered with chicken wire as a frame. I do not recall where we got the rubber from, but I do recall that NONE of the suppliers matched the original exactly. The repros work fine though. It was a pain to install though. Took us better part of the weekend and I don't think I could pick up a pencil for a week! Hammer trick worked on in a few areas, but we had to work it in by have a little at a time. I also don't recall where we got the fabric, dad picked it up for me because he got a deal. Ended up with grey, I'd prefer black. But it works. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
