  1. We have been into cars as long as I can remember. Generally the usual American muscle/sports cars (Im a corvette guy if you couldnt tell) and pre-war cars (We own 36 Plymouth and a 38 Chevrolet as well as a 47 Plymouth). I dont know a lot about early cadillacs. I few years back at a car show in Panama City I ran across this Lasalle and V16 and was absolutley smitten with them! The two were near mirror images of each other and just beautiful cars. I believe them to be 31's Im hoping you all can confirm that and tell me a little bit about them. Pics to follow soon.
  2. I believe he does Jim. Im talking to him right now an re-creating some for my P2 and he mentioned the Dodge molds. Price is reasonable for a few knobs, but it gets pricey if you need an entire set. I need to window knobs, a heater knob abd a choke knob if I can figure the darn thing out. Might have him make a matching shifter as well. My origional is gone and they were pretty bland anyway.
  3. Additional items: Oil px guage; condition unknown. $30 Horn contact parts. $25 Steering sector gear; $100 window regulators; $50/ea Steering wheel; This one is ROUGH! $25. All prices are plus shipping, I will make every effort to ship as cheap as possible. All parts are as is and mostly unknown condition. Please ask questions, Im happy to take more pictures for you. Some things may take a few days to get back as I travel a lot. Pics coming.
  4. It does not appear to be functioning. At least not in a bit water test, no idea if that is an adequate test, but it's all I've got. There is a guy that repairs these of yours needs it. If I can find his info I'll pass it along

    Choke knob

Anyone know how this is attached to the cable? I can't see any set screws and the knob rotates freely on the cable. I tight maybe it was cast into the cable, but that can't be since it spins. It does not, however; screw off (not threaded). I'd like to separate the knob from the cable but can't figure it out.
  6. No idea, I can try and put the end in some hot water
  7. Anyone have need of these? Partial instrument cluster, glass in good condition and the faces are good, might need a cleaning. The bezel is fair with a few dings. All untested. $75 sends reasonable. Tail light stanchion, I dint rescan what it was from our where I got it (possibly on here??) Part number shown for reference. $50??? Not trying to make a fortune, just cleaning out the spare parts bin.
  8. Honestly, I think I'm going to run it dry. Or maybe a light misting with a gun oil or assembly oil instead of 50wt. I'm restoring mine this week if Dad hasn't done it already by the time I get back there.
  9. No this one does NOT come apart. At least not without some serious, permanent persuasion. We have looked and tried every which way
  10. Maybe. I've seen motorobe, and I've seen sine listed as carriage robes. But really a horse blanket I guess (don't know a lot about horses). There are motorobes on ebay between $50-100.

    P2 window

No, but I will give them a look in case mine is irreparable
  12. Very cool! I'd love to find one to hang in my P2.

    P2 window

Steele lists them both, 70-1853-2 that mounts to the body and 40-0018-52 that slides in the channel on the windshield frame. Bernbaum also lists the second part for half the cost ($40 vs $83)A-310. So I'll order those soon. My concern right now is finding lots of rust in the frame when I take it off, of I can figure out how to get out off the windshield. I don't see rust evidence elsewhere, so it's a bit strange. The frame itself seems hard to find and expensive if you do find it! I'd also like to find an electric wiper conversion if anyone knows where to find one. I dint like vacuum wipers (or anything really). My C3 had vacuum headlights, that got ripped out after a few winking headlight moments in favor of electric mirrors from a Mazda Miata. I've seen kits for hot rods, but $400 seems excessive and I'm guessing they are 12v.

    P2 window

Ok, so I'm getting the interior sorted it's fine too start looking at the next step. I need to address the windshield. The glass is fine, it just needs new rubber and the range has a few questionable areas. O know I've seen worse, is this likely to be fixable? Also, I have found the rubber that attached to the outer frame. I havn't found the piece that attaches to the window itself.
  15. Progress report... mineral spirits behaved just as I suspected. After a few hours in the mineral spirits, the decal and paint were visibly damaged, so I went for it with spray foaming degreaser. Three decal is completely gone and it will need repainted. Fortunately I found the decals. https://www.ebay.com/itm/391949937136?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=cRY5UdgGQzy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=cNXgq1FyQfO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY So now the copper mesh is once again copper and water flows pretty well (it didn't at first), I'm still now faced with a dilemma...I am NOT doing this every time it needs cleaned. So I will either have to take @jpage advice of pulling it apart (Although I question how that will hold up over time), or run the filter dry and pan to clean it regularly with a water hose.
