thanks for yours answers !

I had the same problem with my AM/FM radio this spring. The radio turned on, the AM worked but, no FM stations would come in. I sent the radio in to be serviced. The reason I lost my FM is because a transistor burned out and had to be replaced.

For sale is a dash clock for the 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974 Buick Riviera, Electra, LeSabre, Centurian and Estate Wagon. I am not 100% sure of the application, so please correct me and make sure this is correct for your application. The clock looks to be in excellent condition. The lens is clear and crack free. The color of the clock face and hands is excellent. I do not know how well the clock works. The second hand did move after power was applied. At the very least it is a good candidate for a quartz conversion or a parts donor. $25 plus shipping. Please PM me if interested. Thanks.Bill

Here’s a picture of the trunk and jack of @Riviera63 1963. It’s from a different thread in this forum. He has the correct wire handle and spring holding the jack in place and is using some thick rubber (perhaps sections of bicycle tubes like I mentioned earlier) to secure the jack handle to the jack. Nice, quiet, and out of the way. It’s easy to see now why the trunk cardboard is notched. This woul be correct jack storage for early floor mounted spare tires as well.
I originally did the bicycle tube for the jack handle. I later on decided to use velcro straps instead. I found that it makes it much easier to remove and replace the jack handle.

I found this Wildcat emblem on one of the road wheels on a 1963 Riviera I purchased recently. It is not perfect but, seems to be in reasonably good condition. The prongs on the back are all intact and sturdy. I know the Wildcat emblems have been discussed here before and wanted to give Forum members first shot. PM me if interested. Thanks.

Thank you for your write up with samples and photographs.
Would not the brackets still be in place on the seat? It seems the need is for the plastic trim and not the brackets? My basis for assumption the brackets aren’t needed is known as a guess. Would you speculate the need for brackets?
Turbinator
You are welcome Bob.
Just like the trim, the brackets were often discarded when the seats were disassembled for whatever reason. I would think that people would discard the brackets if their trim was broken or missing. My seat was missing the brackets when I purchased my car. My seats had been reupholstered and I am guessing they were discarded at that time.
Obviously, if your brackets are in place there is no need to buy them. One needs to buy just the pieces they are missing. In my case, I needed all of the trim and brackets. Someone else might just need one piece of trim.

The first production 1963s came with the spare tire mounted to the floor. Jim Cannon may be able to tell you a build date or FB number when the 1963 spare was moved under the package tray.
I just sent Jim the data plates from 2-63 Rivieras I just purchased. One had a build date of 03E and FB number of 27650. Jim wanted to know where the spare was mounted as he said that was in the time frame where the change was made form the trunk floor to the trunk shelf. This one had it on the shelf. So the change occurred between 02E and 03E. Jim may be able to pinpoint it more exactly.

I recently bought 2-1963 Riviera along with a pile of parts. Amongst those parts were several seat trim pieces and trim brackets. As we all know these are rare and hard to find.
SOLD-The first piece pictured is the outer trim piece that mounts on the left side of the driver's seat and moves up and down with the seat. This piece will fit the 1963 seat. The 1964 & 1965 use a different piece with different mounting brackets. You could use this on the 1964-1965 if you drill new mounting holes in the piece or swap out the mounting brackets with 1963 mounting brackets. This piece is very nice. Its only flaw was a crack on the front side. I have repaired it using a method I used when repairing the brackets I used on my car. It is a strong repair. This piece also has the 4 original push pins used to mount it.
The second piece pictured is the same piece as the first. This one is not quite as nice but, is very usable. There is a small piece broken off of the back edge. This curves around the back side of the seat and would not be noticeable. The jagged edge could be smoothed out.
SOLD-The 3rd piece pictured is the piece that would mount on the right rear foot of the passenger seat track. This is correct for 1963, 1964 and 1965. It has the original mounting push pin.
SOLD-Next are the front and rear brackets used to mount the outer left trim piece on the left side of the driver's seat for the 1963. These mount between the seat bottom and the seat track. The 1964-1965 brackets are different. You could use these on a 1964-1965 if you were mounting a 1963 outer bracket.
The last piece is another rear bracket for the 1963.
For any of you that would want these or would buy any of these trim pieces in the future I would suggest reinforcing them in some way as they are very fragile and prone to break. What I did on one of my pieces is glue aluminum roof flashing to the back side. It is flexible, easy to cut and shape the way you need it. I also covered mine with vinyl which gave it additional strength. See last 2 pictures.
If you are interested in any of these pieces please PM me. Thanks.

I am not Bob but, I used a 195-75R15. Much easier to wrestle on and off the shelf, especially as my body ages. Yes, a size difference but, I figured it would not be on there for long.

Ron,
The Australian ROA published a list in their November 2017 issue. Many here have followed that. Attached is a link to a thread that shows that list.

I converted my '63 brake light switch over from hydraulic to mechanical switch, as Tom suggests, by installing a '64 brake pedal and bracket assembly into my '63. Not that hard to do, when you have the booster out anyway. You need to route the wires inside the car from under the hood and extend them to get down to the new brake light switch location. Easy to do. You will need to remove the dash pad and work from above and below. The steering column also attaches to the brake pedal bracket, as I recall.
Jim,
Do you know if a brake pedal and bracket from a 65 will work? If it does, I have a pedal, bracket and switch from a 65. If anyone is interested, PM me. Thanks.

just dragged this old post back up as I am trying to cut some new rubbers for the fender infills though thinking the foam rubber maybe to fragile, see how we go! Anyway found these 4 unusual tappers and and they fit nice in the body holes where the guards screw. They have super plat heads do you know if they are the ones?
cheers Dundee
Hi Ron,
Those screws are used to hold various items in the car. Two I can think of are the plastic dash end caps and to hold the channel that runs along the bottom edge of the roof line by the drip edge for the weatherstrip that seals the top edge of the windows.

I am looking for the plastic trim around the bottom of both seats on a 65 Riviera. Does anyone repop. these. Thanks.
Be careful when purchasing these pieces as there are differences between the 3 years. This could save you from wasting a lot of money buying the wrong pieces. I found this out the hard way when I assembled the pieces for my 63. The passenger seat does not have the same trim pieces as the driver's side. The passenger seat just has 2 pieces, one on each of the rear feet. I put together a compilation of the differences between the 3 years with pictures after I had done my car with pictures. I copied that and hope it will come through here.
I don't believe Gene of AB & G has anymore pieces that he made up. He was not sure that he would have more made up the last time I talked to him which was only a couple of weeks ago.

SEAT TRIM AND BRACKET DIFFERENCES/SIMILARITIES BETWEEN 1963 & 1964-1965
As stated by Tom T. and Tom M. the grain on the 63 & 64 pieces was the Seville grain pattern and the 65 was the Madrid grain pattern.
The differences in the years I was referring to were differences in the configuration of some of the actual trim pieces and the brackets that hold them. From trying to assemble the pieces for my own car, being sold the wrong pieces for my 63, disassembling my seat, disassembling seats from the other years and information I have read on other posts in this forum I have come to the following conclusions:
1.) The trim pieces that attach to the back of the PASSENGER seat tracks are the same for all 3 years. Pictures 1 & 2.
2.) The 2 trim pieces that attach to the RIGHT side of the DRIVER'S seat are the same for all 3 years. Pictures 3 & 4
3.) The DRIVER'S seat LEFT INSIDE/LOWER trim piece and brackets are the same for all years. Pictures 5 & 6
4.) The DRIVER'S seat OUTER/UPPER trim piece is different for the 1963 than the 1964-1965 trim piece. Pictures 7 & 8
5.) The DRIVER'S seat UPPER/FRONT trim bracket is slightly different for the 1963 than the 1964-1965 bracket. Pictures 9 & 10
6.) The DRIVER'S seat UPPER/REAR trim bracket is different for the 1963 than the 1964-1965 bracket. The 1964-1965 bracket is 3 1/4" wide and the 1963 bracket is 4" wide. The 1964-1965 bracket is 1 1/2" tall and the 1963 bracket is 1 7/8" tall. The mounting tabs on the 1964-1965 bracket are angled whereas the 63 bracket mounting tabs are straight. Pictures 11 & 12
As far as the outer trim piece and brackets on the LEFT DRIVER'S side. I believe you can use the 1964-1965 trim piece and brackets on a 1963 and you can use the 1963 trim piece and brackets on a 1964-1965 as long as you have all of the same pieces for that specific year(s). You cannot mix and match the upper/outer brackets and trim piece of different year categories.

radio DELCO 7295193 -good reparation !

I don't know your situation but, was the radio working when you pulled it out? Did you bench test it and was it working then? I know that many times a radio will test fine on the bench but, will not work when reinstalled in the car. I have no idea what a transistor looks like. You would have to talk with someone that fixes these for your answer. I know there are some people on the forum that have worked on their radios. Maybe, they will see this and help.
