Jeff Perkins, love your arrangement of tools, need to get around to doing that in my new garage when it is built.
I noticed that also. 👍
That’s a nice Porsche. What year is it? I take it you drive an 18 wheeler? So did my dad. He had a Peterbuilt. Is yours a KW? I can’t recognize the newer ones. 🤷♀️

That’s a great story @J.H.Boland! How terrific that you still have a picture of it.
@Jeff Perkins / Mn nice cars!
@TTR, I didn’t want too many juicy tales. We can wait for the book. 😆

The Model T, such a classic. I loved my dad’s. He had a pickup and was married standing in the bed of it with his wife.
What was your first classic?

Forgive me if we’ve had a thread like this before.
I’m curious to hear stories, and see pictures, of cars that had special meaning to you.
Perhaps it’s the car that started your love affair with the automobile, or the one that got away. Maybe it belonged to a relative, friend, or it was one you owned. Maybe it was one you took someone special on a date in?
It’s always interesting to hear the stories behind the cars, so please share them with us.
I will be sharing one, but I want to find a picture of a car that I haven’t posted about before. I have been having a hard time going through the boxes of photos I rescued from my dad’s, but it's about time I stop avoiding them. Stay tuned.

I like lots of modern luxury cars as well as muscle cars. Modern muscle fav of mine is the Challenger R/T. Just a base 5.7 Hemi is enough for me. SRT, Yes but insurance and temptation to stomp on it, get another speeding ticket I can't justify. The Charger R/T is the same, but better ride. Seats suck, so gotta go for the Daytona or SRT to get the good front seats. I drive a 2010 Genesis sedan for everyday and it really works well for a V6. 300 H.P. with instant throttle response, great handling, brakes, etc. Satisfying, but not truly visceral like you get from driving a 1955 Buick Roadmaster!
I rented a Charger R/T in Texas. It was faaast! So much fun to drive on the highways where the speed limit is 80.

Don’t just check your sheds and barns for cars! This is the kind of stuff that gets thrown away by the family when you’re gone!
True. I through out a lot of stuff from my dad’s garages. I didn’t have time to research everything since I lived 2200 miles away.

See above V.L..............Bob
I just searched “survey” and found at least two others within the past couple years also. Better to be safe than sorry
Also you can’t always tell when you’ve been compromised my friends. I’ve had Realtors whose emails have been watched for months and the intruder waits until a closing is coming and redirect the email and tells the borrower to wire the purchase money to the wrong place. It’s a common real estate scheme that’s been around for years. No one ever knows they have been hacked.
Don't click links from people who have no history here to be safe.

Wondering how we are sure the link is not a trojan horse virus. I hesitate to open it........bob
I wonder if it’s a virus also because I’ve seen similar posts here at least two times. I won’t do it.

@sunnybaba, Cool pictures.
This is my dad’s 24 T that I sold.
Thanks everyone for continuing to share your pics. It’s so interesting to see you all!

Discovery channel wanted to use the retractable for a show about the story behind the cars. I reneged at the last minute, mostly due to advice from here, and I’m glad I did.
They were going to ship it to and from Hollywood, no pay, I think just a hotel room. I was too concerned the car would be damaged because it has so much sentimental value. (Was my late father’s). I heard after that some cars were damaged because they were basically just props.
Sounds like some of you have the Hollywood gig down to a science. 👍

My father was big into flatheads since he was a teen growing up in Michigan. I sold a 50 Shoebox and at least 4 Flathead engines. If you wind up needing Flathead parts, let me know. A young man near Houston bought all the parts and the car and he has rebuilt a couple cars of the era. He has some spare parts.

Hope y’all have a terrific holiday season. I’ve been so busy at work that it doesn’t feel like Christmas Eve tomorrow. I’m certainly not complaining though. I’m very fortunate to be doing so well so early in my new career. It is thanks to a great network of past clients who are referring clients to me.
I hope every one of you enjoys time with your families and your cars if you live down south. 🎁🥳

Very sad. I sold a lot of them very cheap. I may still have a few in the ones I kept. Dad had them as well as the other brand that I can’t remember the name of right now).

I don't think so - grill is more V-shape than oval.
The very top where just the nose is showing.

I really think they are all Ford’s. The reason is that all the other cars and accessories are Ford and it’s the only logo showing. I know Lincoln is part of Ford, but it doesn’t seem to fit the theme of the pic that there would be Lincoln’s in this.

Maybe those are bucket seats showing and not a window divider. Hahahaha.
Good try but I don’t think so. Wrong shape. 😆

I think the headlamps are further outboard on the car in question as on the Zephyr.
No split windshield though?

The one at the very top of the ramp is hard to make out. You only see the nose.

A Love Affair With The Automobile

@Michael-Restomod, I meant Jag. Sorry, I have a headache today that is affecting my brain.
My dad loved standards not only on his big rig, but sports cars too. I remember the sound of him shifting all the gears.
What part of Texas are you in? I still have dad’s property in Hill Country, close to Fredricksburg.
