  1. This appears to be the base bracket for a folding seat from an early 20's closed car. what make / year of car used this type of bracket ?
  2. This cast bracket looks like a support which mounted on the motor between the radiator and cooling inlet. casting number is 186603 what year / make does this fit ?
  3. Now it all makes sense. There were several boxes of unidentified car parts of various makes that came from my father's garage, and when I saw Hugh's parts shopping list, I recognized one of them was the rear hood support. I will keep looking thru those boxes of parts and see what else is in there. The radiator is from a 1926 Master, and apparently the front hood support attached with 2 screws to the radiator surround, which is different from the 1925 front hood saddle. Below is a photo of the radiator surround removed from the radiator for cleaning and rust & crack repair. I haven't yet checked to see how well the 1925 radiator shell fits over the 1926 radiator and surround. Kevin
  4. Another option for a steel accelerator button is to find one from a Model A ford. (new or reproduction) The difference is the internal threads are 5/16-NF, so you would have to replace or re-thread the threaded rod it attaches to. This is one belongs to my Ford
  5. I made a replacement accelerator button from some old brass plumbing part that was close to the right size. I also have another accelerator arm with original button which was made from plastic with a threaded insert, and is completely worn thru on top and cracked. From the description of new repro buttons available thru Bob's Automobilia, they are also made from plastic. Was there an all steel button produced for some years ? Where does the floor board thimble go ? Kevin
  6. this wooden staff has an engraved brass plate that reads :Presented by Pontiac Motor Company at Washington, D.C. June 13 1935. The staff is approx 54" in length, has a brass ferrule at one end and the opposite end is turned down. It looks like an old fashioned ceremonial staff or short flag pole. What was the event that took place on June 13, 1935 in Washington DC, and what was mounted to this pole ?
  7. these parts appear to be correct for my 1925-45, but I am not quite sure how they attach. can someone please provide a photo showing these installed ? parts are : Rear Fender Wing-Upper, and Radiator Mud Pan. thank you Kevin
  8. 1930 Durant reposted from craigslist NOT MINE https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5492018963.html We have a 1930 Durant for sale! It is complete, ran when parked , missing dr side glass& carberator.$3200!
  9. What is the flathead 6 motor in these photos ? My guess is either Continental or Dodge truck motor. I stumbled upon these old parts while backpacking in the California Sierras. They appear to be pieces of a self propelled air compressor that had been used by a mining operation about 7 miles distant that operated up until the 60's. when this machine was operational, it would have certainly made some miner's life a lot easier because it could be driven up the primitive road that ran to the mine site, and then power his rock drill. This piece of equipment had been cut up and collected into this pile with some other junk, possibly in preparation for removal from the wilderness. components visible in the photos are: Ingersoll Rand 2 cylinder compressor, 1920's vintage 6 cylinder flathead industrial motor, 1940's - 1950's ? vintage 4 truck wheels heavy duty transfer case with power takeoff steerable drive axle solid axle with hubs, has been cut up additional odds & ends of junk, may not have originated from the self propelled compressor. there is a piece of model a ford gas tank in one photo

  11. Reposted from Craigslist NOT MINE (Advertised as a Roadster, but upper cowl area looks more like it started out as a closed car) 1927 Cadillac Roadster barn find extremely rare - $9500 (emeryville)https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5482665810.html Previously family owned since 1963. This is a 1927 Cadillac Roadster with 138" wheel base. Fairly complete but would be a major restoration project. Drivetrain all there but engine looks pretty bad. All brakes, suspension present. No interior or floors has dash with gauges. Has extra fenders, cowl, sides above running boards, wheel, some caps, rear window frame. Make a one of a kind Rat Rod or restore it to new. Where would you ever see another? They sell for around 100k restored! Will consider trades car is located in the Galt area Call Ken 209748twofoureightsix
  12. Leon those zink scuff plates look real nice, and appear to be holding up well too. The original process probably involved silk screening a mask / resist on the aluminum, then etching using acid. I should research this a little more. You are right, today's technology makes it easier to copy/ paste the Buick logo and surround it with a diamond pattern using a computer. Larry those are great photos of your friend's 1924-45. In the second photo, at the left end of the scuff plate, is that a black rubber bumper/ wear pad to cushion the lower corner of the rear door ? How many original miles does that -45 have ? I know why you are holding out for a complete original car like this one. My car is a 30+ year project and still not complete. Hugh I finally figured out the hand brake lever. My rechromed lever looks like a 1927. below are additional photos of mine plus a 1927 Master engine-transmission photo from craigslist to compare. The 1927 lever pawl engages correctly to the ratchet for the full range of motion, so should be functional, but not with the shift tower surround. I will try to get dimensions for that surround plate. anyone have a photo of a 1927 tower surround plate ? Untill I get my hands on a 1925 master parts car, this car will remain a mixture of 1924-1925-1926-1927-1928 parts. It is still rolling on 1926 standard wheels & axles. And thanks for the links above for T alum molding. I save all this information until I can finish areas in work and move on to others. Kevin

  16. This is the floor trim that I have for my 1925-45. The shift tower surround looks the same as pictured above except it has an additional 3 rivets that fastened a felt dust seal to the bottom side. Unfortunately it will not fit over the shift tower with the hand brake lever installed. The aluminum trim piece with larger hole was still attached to the steering column tube and in good condition. The 3 door sill trim plates, or scuff plates, might have actually been original to this car - i can't always be sure since the car was a real basket case. Part numbers 167564 & 167567 match the Buick Parts book for scuff plates. These aluminum plates have blisters from exposure to moisture for an extended period of time. Has anyone else had to replace these scuff plates ? Bob's carries these scuff plates for later models, but unfortunately they are not the same. Kevin BCA # 47712
  17. How is the aluminum trim fastened to the floorboards ? My 1925-45 is missing all of the floorboards & trim pictured above, so eventually I will need to fabricate these parts. Kevin BCA # 47712
