    1956 Buick Riviera On Ebay

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/125514881533?

Mason, this isn't a knock on you but I get really irritated with sales listings for 1950's Buicks that just have "Buick Riviera" in the title/description.
So many current sellers are using this selling title to take advantage of the increased prices of Riviera models to bump up the price of their 1950s cars.

    My two cents worth...

  2. Seen on FB Marketplace. I am not associated with this rather pricy listing.

What you have there is real industrial art. The paint accents draw the eye to the whole design. I believe your made a good investment in having the work completed. Triple nickel plated? Just curious if you knew the spec.

There are soooo many chrome plating specs you need to be a materials engineer to check for quality adherence. Nonetheless, nicely done. Turbinator

Bob, I bought these bezels from a seller on eBay already re-plated and painted. It was just "plug and play" on my end! 🙂

  4. Welcome to the Riviera family! Please consider joining the Riviera Owners Assn. (www.rivowner.org).

If you prefer real paper shop and body manuals instead of CD/DVD versions, watch ebay for "1964 (Buick, Fisher) Manual". You will surely find listings for used chassis and body manuals. Personally I prefer a book I can thumb through or set on the fender while I am working on the car.

Also, if you have other questions you need answers to, please consider searching this forum first because your questions have probably already been asked and answered (several times! 🙂). If you don't find the answers you are looking for, fire away with your questions.

Enjoy the ride and the experience of Riviera ownership!

Hello all! And greetings from sunny and hot Finland! Here’s my new ’63 Riviera

Welcome to the Riviera Family. Be sure to consider joining both the main ROA (www.rivowners.org) and the European Branch. Contact @Schmiddy for details about that!

I look forward to reading more about your Riviera. It looks like you got it near the end of the driving season in Finland! I bet you spend this winter lovingly wiping it down and staring at it!

If you have any questions about anything, please search this forum as there is a good possibility your question(s) have been asked and answered previously!

    Enjoy!

Got access to your ROA write up on the process to replace the bumper fillers on ROA, it's great and thank you for being so thorough - I'm sure many have benefitted from it.  The Riviera owners community looks to be a great community to be part of.  Any chance you have a contact (email, website, etc.) for Jeff who owns CARS?  I'm new to this site and trying to search for Jeff who owns Cars is not the most narrow search...  Thanks in advance for any help.

    Welcome to the Riviera family!

  7. Does anybody know where this one off Buick currently is?

1939 BUICK MODEL 60 DUAL COWL PHAETON "SALOON TOURER"

Sold by Christies Auction House in 1994 for $123k!

I am asking because this car is mentioned in a Bible study devotional for today which peaked my curiosity.

I can't find any other online reference to the car nor any pictures of it.

Is there a link to the public on the process for replacing that seal? I see to get a lot of heat around the base of the steering column and am thinking the seal has gone bad.

If you are referring to Ed's 2010 response above about the article in the Tech Tips on the ROA website, the answer to your questions is "it depends".

If you are a paying member of the ROA, then you have access to the Members Only content via a changing username and PW sent out each month in the club magazine.

Otherwise, no, there is no public access to these portions of the website.

  10. I replaced the tail light bezels on the rear bumper of my 68 this weekend with a set of restored bezels I purchased on Ebay.

These bezels had the pits removed and filled in then they were replated and had the lower sections painted silver like they were originally.

I think the rear end has a new elegance about it now!

  11. I finally got my foam rubber lacing seals glued correctly onto my new assembly brackets.

I used black 3M weatherstrip adhesive to attach the seals to the brackets. I then used a bunch of wooden clothes line clips to hold everything together while the adhesive dried.

The seals and brackets are reinstalled on the cowl panel and will, hopefully, last for dozens of years yet! These seals are not Concours condition but I am glad that I was able to continue to use them with the newly manufactured brackets.
