  1. I have a pair of very good condition Left and Right black plastic covers for 1969 (and possibly 1970) front seat belt retractors.

These covers are not cracked or gouged. Nor do they have any major dents or other issues. If you need a different color, they can be painted to match.

These will NOT fit pre-1969 seat belt retractors, you can verify this with Ken Lawerence, who bought these from me for his 1968 Riv and subsequently found out they won't fit the retractors in his car.

I purchased these covers from Ron Hing in Portland, Oregon from his stash of 1969 Riviera parts.

Price is $40 plus $8.00 postage to USA addresses only. Payment via Paypal or personal check.

Send me a private message if you are interested.

  2. Update, the 1968 and 1969/1970 gas pedals are two different part numbers as the stud socket holes are different widths between the two years, so they are NOT interchange.

1968 Buick gas pedal GM Part # 1369459 (number is under the base flap of the pedal).

If your gas pedal part number is 1386005, the pedal is for full size 69-70 Buicks.
The mounting cups and width of the bottom of these pedals are wider than the 66-68 Riviera pedals.
  3. 69 Deluxe door panels have a faux-wood panel on them, where the 68 doesn't.

Try using searchtempest.com to search all of Craigslist for car parts with the term "Riviera" in the title. You might be surprised what gets returned in the search results.

  4. Old Air Products in Dallas, Tx also sells a colored vacuum hose kit but it includes a color on a hose that isn't original to a 60s Riv. I don't remember the color but the kit includes all of the lines you need to replumb your rubber vacuum hoses, to include the larger ID main vacuum hose from the manifold to the vacuum tank.

So, I visited several vintage boneyards on last week's trip. Although somewhat picked-over, still a few Nailheads out there.

However, I did not find a single Q-Jet intake from the numerous 1966 Electras and Wildcats. Still only square bore intakes.

Which '66 models came with the rare spreadbore intakes? All '66 Riviera and only '66 Wildcats with the 425? A mid-year intro?

Is the giant rat's nest extra? 🙂

Thanks!  I was thinking of having a machine shop rebuild it.  I've worked on a lot of cars, many years ago, and just recently started getting back into it.  This is my first Riviera - love that style!  She's not in good shape, but I'm bringing her back from the brink.  Would you know where I might find a used balancer for the 401?  Thanks again!

Contact Gene @abandg in Pennsylvania. He sells first Gen Riv parts and may have what you need.

  7. Our Aqua Zephyr will be participating in the Sandhills Motoring Festival "Concours in the Village” Pinehurst, NC on Memorial Day Sunday (May 28th). https://www.sandhillsmotoringfestival.com/

Like your Des Moines Concours show, this is the premier car show in North Carolina. Normally there is a huge Sports Car contingent as well as classic European cars. We will be doing our best to represent in the "Post-War" era category this year.

Last year they had us slotted in the "Macro" (Big Car) category. They don't have that category this year. We are hoping for some recognition this year. Last year, a 1965 Cadillac deVille convertible that was parked next to us was awarded a trophy. We scratched our heads at that one because the Caddy was in much worse condition than our Riviera was! There's no accounting for taste!

Here's the AZ at last year's Sandhills Motoring Festival "Concours in the Village” show. We were also parked next to my friends 1937 Buick Special Sedan.
We had the best parking spots in the entire show, (right at the event official entrance under some beautiful oak trees [with no birds crapping all over the cars!])

Iam doing the front suspension on my 66 riv and while iam in there Iam thinking about changing the springs. Is there a certain brand you recommend for front springs?

I recommend ordering from Coil Spring Specialties or Eaton Spring. Both offer quality springs at various ride heights and spring rates.

  9. Gene,

I have a used booster from a 68 on my shelf that I am thinking about sending to Harmon's Classic Brake Service in GA. I could be convinced to sell it instead for the right price. No guarantees to servicability but it worked fine when I removed it three months ago.

Your inquiree can contact me if they are interested.
