1930 dictator interior door lever needed
29commander replied to SMB's topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
How is this handle attached to the opening mechanism? They were various methods. Could you show a photo? -
I have restored a 1929 Model FD an eight cylinder model. I have had problems, as parts are not easy to find. However by posting ads here and in the THE ANTIQUTE STUDEBAKER REVIEW. I have located them. Other 1929 owners are of great help. It is a rewarding experience to restore a car not running and get it back on the street. Good luck. Dave

1929 Studebaker Commander 8 FDT
29commander replied to Binkss's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
I think you are started in the right direction. Using this forum to obtain parts was useful for me when I started to restore my 1929 Commander. I also join the Antique Studebaker club and meet some great owners of 29 commanders and I placed wanted ads in the magazine. Yes, please post a photo of your car. Dave -
Brake question on a 1929 Commander
29commander replied to 29commander's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Thank you for your post and information. I got some linings at Hershey. Dave -
I decided to replace my brake linings so four questions 1. Where can I obtain new linings or trade in my shoes for rebuilt brake shoes ? 2. What is the allowable inside dimension of the brake drum ? 3. I have steel brake drums on my car is there a minimum wall thickness allowed on the drum ? 4. Are cast iron drums available ? Thanks for your comments/ Dave email dpkroegs@aol.com

1929 Commander fuel line/pump problem
29commander replied to CliffGrinnell's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Cliff, the advice on not using an electric fuel pump is good advice. A friend of mine had one on his '53 Cadillac. He had a wreck while driving it and the electric fuel pump kept pumping. It added to the fire which ensued. dave -
