  1. For anyone interested, there is a set of 4 wood spoke wheels and tires for sale on craigslist Vancouver (Canada) under 1929 auto parts for sale. $175.00 for all four. They are solid
  2. I still have some mechanical parts. A complete engine inreasonably nice condition, a good transmission, a parts transmission, two front fenders, a parts differential. Rick
  3. Hi Philip I sent you an email regarding some parts I am looking for. Hope you can help Rick
  4. Thanks for the responses and help. I found an oil pump with the right gear as well as a correct water pump.
  5. I would just like to clear up some confusion. The gear that I am looking for is called the oil pump / distributor drive gear and not the oil pump gear. To the best of my knowledge the part # is 51291, but you would be hard pressed to find that number anywhere. The gear is mounted on the base of the oil pump shaft, meshes with the screw type gear on the camshaft, which in turn also drives the distributor. The gear is 1 13/16" long consisting of 1 1/4" round smooth area 3/4" outside diameter and 1/2" inside diameter. The gear teeth are about 5/8" wide. There are 10 teeth and when looking at the gear up and down, the teeth fall to the left. The gear is mounted on the oil pump shaft with a pin pressed through it. Apparently only the Chrysler CJ 6 engine and the 1930 DeSoto Packet (truck) engine have this gear because the camshaft is driven by a gear rather than a chain. A used oil pump assembly from either one of these two engines would be great! Thanks for the help.
  6. I'm not in a great hurry, but would love to get it. Would it be rusted? Another source for help may show up as well. Is there a water pump too? Thanks for the help! Rick
  7. Can anyone help? I am looking for a distributor drive gear for a 1930 Chrysler CJ engine. It would be the same as a 1930 Fargo Packet engine. No it is not the same as the other Chrysler/Dodge /Desoto engines as these engines have timing chains rather than timing gears, which changes the rotation of the camshaft. The gear that I need has 10 teeth which fall to the left when looking at it in a vertical position. Thanks for your help. Rick
  8. What kind of parts are you looking for? there was a 29 for sale in Golden BC, looked like it was good for body parts (on KIJIJI) and a 29 for sale in Maple Ridge BC on craigslist
  9. Hi there I do have a few parts left from a 29 Chrysler 65. I'm in Surrey BC 6042403744 Rick
  10. Hi Dennis Sorry I can't help you on those items. I sold the steering column complete with horn button, all the levers, and the switch some time ago. I do still have the engine, transmission, pedals, large U joints and possibly a bumper. If any of those parts interest you, let me know. I have some 31 Chrysler CM guages and speedometer. I thought the only guages in a 1929 were Amps/Fuel/Oil Rick
  11. I have sorted out the problem. The part# for the oil pump drive gear (40296) is the gear that drives the oil in the pump. That is not the part # that describes the oil pump / distributor drive gear. That gear for many Chrysler / Desoto engines is part #40883. For the 1930 DeSoto 6 used in the 1930 Fargo 6 panel truck and the Chrysler CJ 6 engine, that gear is reversed and is part# 51291. I actually found a new one on ebay! Thanks for your help Rick VanOene 1930 DeSoto CK 6 wheel rumbleseat coupe owner (Canadian made)
  12. Hi Marty I have 2 oil pumps, one from a 1931CM engine and 1 from a 1930CK engine. They are both the same but do not work with a CJ camshaft. The CJ has a timing gear, and to compensate for the rotation, the screw gear on the camshaft is at 90 degrees to make the oil pump and distributor turn clockwise. I have ordered a early Chrysler interchange manual to see if I can find the answer. I noticed that Egge machine in CA does not list a timing chain for that particular engine, but 2 timing gears, so I guess it must be a factory original. Rick VanOene
  13. I'm looking for an oil pump drive gear for a 1930 chrysler CJ engine. The engine has a timing gear rather than a timing chain which changes the rotation of the camshaft and thus also the pitch (angle) of the oil pump gear. That would make it not interchangeable with the timing chain driven lhead 6 cylinder engines. Anyone have a spare one or a source for a new one?
  14. Thanks Marty I don't have the original pump for the CK engine but I do have a 1931 CM pump # 307603 that fits and now also a 29 Chrysler 65 pump # 40672 that fits. The pump bodies, depth of impeller and length of shaft are identical. The 1931 impeller has a larger pulley and 3 impeller blades, while the 1929 impeller has 6 blades and a smaller pulley. The impeller dimensions appear identical. I just wonder which would be the closest, and whether a pump can create too much flow. The hollander book lists the 31 Chrysler CJ, 66, 30-31 DeSoto CK6, SA, CF8, 31 Chrysler CM, CD, 31 Dodge DG all with pump body #307601, but it appear that many more are interchangeable. Maybe it is the impeller and shaft or pulley sizes that make up the differences Rick
  15. I believe there are new reproductions available from Australia if they are the same long plates as the "65"
  16. The wheels and axles are sold as well as the spare tire carrier. I still have a good engine and transmission. Also a stewart warner vacuum fuel pump tank. If interested, drop me a line Rick
  17. Does anybody have information as to which early Desoto, Chrysler, Dodge 6cyl water pumps are interchangeable? I know that 1930 DeSoto Ck 6 and 1931 Chrysler CM are, but what about others. My Hollander interchange manual doesn't go back that far. Thanks for the help
  18. I didn't want to stick my neck out with including other Chrysler products. They look like a Budd wheel because of the hub shape and the large bolt holes. They would also fit on a Ford, and may have been used as a truck accessory wheel. If they are Budd, then they also require the special budd wheel nuts with the large centering flange, which were made in a left and right hand thread for the Chrysler/Dodge/DeSoto cars
  19. The wheels look to be a Budd. If they have a 6" hubcap opening they would have been used on a 1931 Chrysler CM. From the pictures it is even difficult to see if they are a split rim (locking ring) If they are 18" wheels with a locking ring, I would be interested. Would have to be 5x51/2 bolt pattern.
  20. I am looking for 6" De script wire wheel hubcaps. If all else fails, does anybody know of a source for reproductions at a reasonable cost? I am looking for a total of six 6 and maybe a spare.
  21. It is a silverdome engine that is in very good condition. Appears to be low original mileage. I have checked the bearings and cylinders, and all look great. I could possibly do a compression check and post it. I'm looking for around $1200 for the engine. I will try to post some pictures and prices in the next few days, as there appears to be quite an interest. I feel that everything is worth around $3000.00 as those are the numbers that I have had to pay for similar items of less quality.
  22. I have a complete drive train in very nice condition that has been in dry heated storage since 1972. It was going to be used to complete a different car, but the correct parts that I needed have been accumulated over time. Now it is time to clear out some things that I no longer need. I have a complete good engine, transmission, front axle with rebuilt brakes, differential with new seals, bearing and brakes, rear wire wheel carrier (6 bolt) 18" 6 bolt wire wheels with locking rings, steering column c/w steering wheel (good control levers-lights/throttle/timing/horn button), steering box, and light switch) I also have a spare transmission, although it isn't in great shape. This is a great opportunity to make a wood wheel car into a wire wheel car. I would like to sell the parts together. Please contact Rick for pictures and further information
