  2. I have quite a number of Miller service tools that came from a Chrysler dealership years ago, pre 1970. I have been able to figure out what a few of them are used for by looking through the few service manuals I have. Does anyone have a publication of sorts that would list these and what they are used for? For instance Tool #3123 appears to be a seal installer of some sort. This is one of those I cannot find reference to in my manuals. Thanks for any help you can offer. Dave S.

  19. Thanks Elmo! May I ask, what issue (date) is your book? The oldest one I have is dated May '54 and supersedes Dec '53. the #s in my book for part ytpe code 10-24-4 must have superceeded yours as they list pan #1409-601 as covering the '6' from '37-'54. and 2 other 1400 series #s with "see notes" beside the applications for Ply and Dodge '6'. Each number then has an asterik beside it denoting "change or addition". Any chance of a picture of your page?? Don't Ya just love these books!! Dave S.

  23. You have a 413 from a 63 in the car. T=model year 1963 year 1960 would be a P-41 41 = 413 If it was a 361 it would be 36, 383 would be 38 You probablt also have the later model 727 aluminum case trans as the converter for a 60 trans won't bolt up to a later crank. Those use a flex plate between the converter and crank whereas the 60 converters bolt directlt to the crank.\ The heat riser valve is spring loaded to be closed when cold. As the spring warms up from the heat, it expands and opens the valve when at idle. I'll bet yours is in the closed position either that or the flapper plate is missing. Soak it down good with some WD-40 or other similar spray and lightly tap it back and forth and it should losen up. Repair kits used to be available and you might get lucky enough to score one at a swap meet look for part #2525-081 You will have to remove the mfld to do this repair properly. Type F trans fluid is vailable at Wal-Mart I serviced the trans in my 300-F last fall and used type F. The car runs and shifts like a new one. If you do have the 727 trans, the trans filter is replaceable. he earlier cast iron units used a screen instead. It can be removed for cleaning after the pan is dropped but you must be carefull to re-install theo-ring gaskets when putting it back in. Good luck and enjoy your new toy! Dave Schwandt -
