  1. May I suggest you run an ad in Gas Engine Magazine,as I have found the obscure in there thru the years. There is also an old engine website for the obscure: www.oldengins.com or something like that. Just Google it. Good Luck,George Albright,Fla.
  2. Morning Dave: Sorry to dissapoint you,but Jim Hoe only used the White truck transmissions,NOT the engine! No White truck engine was ever mounted in a Duesy. Thanks,George
  3. You are correct grasshopper! This is the car built in the early 1970s by Jim Talmadge, son of Buster Keeton. I bought the car from Jims son Michael. Randy Ema assisted me in the deal. Jim found this Miller 2 man Indy body in an Indianapolis garage sometime after 1970 and constructed this beauty in his machine shop on a Model A Ford running gear with this sohc HAL head and dual Winfield carbs.and high speed trans. It runs like the wind! Unfortunately there are many old welds along the head, that allowed moisture to seep all thru the head and made it all but fall apaprt when we tried to weld a crack. HOWEVER,yesterday I found a complete engine with HAL sohc head on it,which has been stored since the 1940s! The owner is going to sell it to me,so I am a happy camper! However I want to keep looking for a backup head also. Yes I put an an on HAMB and FORDBARN yesterday. THANKS guys! George
  4. Up for sale is a super rare set of wheels I have never advertised. I am posting them for sale on Ebay, but they can be bought now for $1,495.00 for the set of four. They use 28 x 3 clincher tires. They are off of a 2 cylinder 1906 Buick. They include an older but usable set of Dunlap tires. These were off of a former HCCA Presidents car,and has been stored in dry California until 3 months ago when I brought them to Fla. I have owned them for over a decade, but just got around to getting them! The prior owner kept the hubs. The hubs for these wheels are about 6 1/2 inches across and about 1 1/2 inches deep. I do not know the wheels maker, but it may be Weston Mott, since they supplied Buick with axles. The condition of the wood centers and spokes, and the metal clincher rims is SUPERB! These are correct for any 1900 1901 1902 1903 1904 1905 1906 1907 1908 car using 28 x 3 wood wheels including Cadillac,Ford Rambler,Reo,Pierce,Pierce Arrow,Packard,Olds,Oldsmobile, etc. and would be superb for a race racer or race car automobile. Will deliver to Hershey for free or will ship shrink wrapped for $200.These are really rare! Good luck! George Albright,Ocala,Fla. cell 352 843 1624 email gnalbright@gmail.com ----------

  7. Dear Friends: Several years ago,I bought the Dee Howard of Texas collection of Duesenberg cars and engines and lots of parts. I have sold all of my Duesy cars, engines and parts as of a year ago. One of the items I got with the J-187 rolling chassis was the Jim Hoe late 1940s White 5 speed truck transmission,he installed in J-187 when he raced the shortened chassis in the 1950s. He installed several of these for his Duesenberg customers. In fact he typed a 3 page instruction manual on what model of trans and parts to use,and how to install. That White truck trans is exactly the same length as a factory Warner T-72 Duesy trans.I have that 3 page document ,and will be happy to email it to anyone interested in it. I sold the Jim Hoe trans several years ago,and it is being installed in a Duesenberg currently being restored. HOWEVER,in my searches I have just purchased ANOTHER White truck trans like the Jim Hoe trans. It is currently being removed for me from the 1940s White semi. I am getting the transmission, bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, etc. I will have it with me at Hershey from Tues to Thurs. that week.It is being delivered to me then. I have no photos of it at this time, but do have photos of the original Jim Hoe White trans. for your reference purposes, which I can also provide by email. The trans. is obviously used but usable. Condition unknown at this time, but it shifts freely. These 5 speeds are almost impossible to find, and are tougher than the original 3 speed Warner. The price for all the above is $2,800. It beats $35,000 for an original if you can even find one! This is a great backup trans. for your original. Please share this with Auburn Duesy attendees.Serious inquiries only please. 21. Please see the photo of a new or repro? 1920-24 Kelsey friction drive radiator emblem. I received this photo from the emblem collector in Ontario, who has written several books on the subject.. Unfortunately he will not say if it is new or repro,or if it is for sale. I need one like it,for my 1917 Kelsey friction drive protype rolling chassis. Would also like to buy the brass script that says "Kelsey" that attaches to the front of the radiator. This is the same company and inventor that made the 1910-12 three wheeled Kelsey Motorette car.Leads appreciated! George Albright,Fla. cell 352 843 1624 email gnalbright@gmail.com
