Hi everyone: I have really been looking at and studying old signs and the market in the past year. I came to realize there is little web based support for an old authentic sign marketplace. Thus I decided to set up a marketplace myself! These old-fashioned reminders of a bygone era are becoming harder and harder to find. I am now offering a unique opportunity to bring together buyers and sellers of old, antique and vintage signs. Our Classified Advertisements are dedicated exclusively to original, collectible signs. Here you can sell your nostalgic sign or find that special, old-fashioned advertising sign you've always wanted. If selling a vintage sign is your goal, then list with us to quickly reach your target market. And in case you're wondering, our advertising is FREE! Please go to www.oldantiquesigns.com I would appreciate you sharing this with our car and sign collector friends. Thanks,George Albright,Ocala,Fla. cell 352 843 1624. From 10 AM to 4 PM Weekdays EST Best. Email; gnalbright@gmail.com<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Thanks Ben for the lead and Frank the info. I checked our Santos Dumont in the Clark/Kimes book. Not even close. The Santos Dumont 2 cylinder model was turned sideways under the front seat, and rear was chain driven. This motor mounts on the front of the car and is cranked from the front, and trans goes to a shaft drive rear axle. Thanks for digging! George

Hello everyone. I am considering the purchase of this neat 2 cylinder motor with atmospheric inlet valves and what appears to be a shaft drive planetary transmission. Notice the letter R and S on the pedals in the last photo. No names, serial numbers, etc. But it says New York Gear on the back of the trans. Probably a 1902-05 motor. Its a small 6-8 HP engine. Appears to mount in the front of the car,and to hook up to a shaft drive rear. It is NOT Autocar,Pierce Arrow,Peerless,or Stevens Duryea. Your thoughts are truly appreciated! Please free to send this around to others. Thanks,George Albright,Ocala,Fla. cell 352 843 1624 from weekdays 10 AM to 4 PM EST best. Email gnalbright@gmail.com
