Hudson would go on to use the word "brougham" to describe their two door sedan models in the future, as well.

Nice dash, steering wheel and floor mat. Do those bumpers look like they have been painted? It's a very minor point but do you guys think that there should be bumper guards on the front bumper, in addition to the ones that are on the rear?

Good grief!

That looks like an overdrive knob under the dash, to the left of the steering column. Whether it functions isn't important enough to the seller to mention. DeSotos, and other Chrysler products were so handsome in '36 but got bulbous and homely in a hurry after that. Still, I love them.

These Hayes-bodied coupes are rare and distinctive looking. Sadly, I've never found them very attractive.
-
Scott, you're right, that does look a lot like the horns in question.
-
If I may be allowed to guess, I'll say Sparton horns. If you go to Google Images and enter Klaxon horns, you won't see anything like these, but if you Google Image Sparton horns, you'll see the same identical "anti-vibration" bracket pictured.

Geez, guys, I'm so sorry for putting $85 in my entry. I guess that I was doing two things at once and screwed up. $450 is the correct price. They're not cheap, but it's hard to find nice ones and they really class-up an old car like a Plymouth.

Here's a link to a C/L post offering mid-thirties Mopar horns for sale in MN for $450 (corrected):

Here's a link to an interesting looking 1923 Buick coupe of some sort for sale on Facebook in Nebraska for $20,000. The listing describes it as a Model 23-Six-48 Opera Edition.

I think it looks like a fleet car for a local utility company. I'd just be too embarrassed to be seen in it.

I think that the tube steel interior detail is pretty much indispensable in an Airflow. That really labels these as Art Deco designs.

I've always found it very interesting that a car was marketed using the name of a, then, modern-day hero. Could the same be done today? Who would you nominate?
-
Truly interesting! Thanks for posting it.

No, I'm pretty sure that Specials haven't reached this level yet.

A pretty, well-proportioned car, but do the tires/wheels look a little undersized? (Not that it isn't as it left the factory).

Here in Minnesota, I was well used to rust, but when fuel and brake lines started to rust through, which hadn't been the norm for decades, I finally soured on GM. I didn't have much better luck with Ford. My Mercury Grand Marquis was worse. The oil pan and the gas tank rusted through in the same year.

I have to say that I've seen similar paint jobs respond well to being color-sanded and rubbed out. The trouble is, you just don't know until you try it, whether it will look OK when you're done. I don't mind the price, but cost of shipping it to Minnesota chills me! (It's currently -14 degrees outside).

I was never crazy about this quarter window/roof design from GM. I always thought that it made it look like the window was something of an afterthought.

That body color! I'm never speechless, but I'm speechless!

I thought that it might be European because of those six large finial things on the roof. I've seen those on European hearses.

If you force the pistons out before removing that ridge on the top of the cylinder wall, you'll likely crack the ring "lands". Those are the grooves in the pistons where the rings fit.

The back seat has not collapsed, they were made that way, The depression in the middle of the base should have buttons on each pleat that was tied thru to the underneath frame. I had an original Chrysler 60 rear seat that was built this way.
It looks to be a nice car, wish I lived closer.
I think that I see a similar depression on the other side. It's hard to tell because it's in the shadow. What you say makes sense.

I know how old this thread is, but I just thought I'd share this pic I latched on some years ago. I'm not suggesting it's accurate for the '36 Dodge it came with, just old:
