Paying for "respectable interior cost" in a really otherwise nice Hudson, plus acquisition and transportation, registration, taxes, etc., will far outweigh the resale value.
If you want this car, likely best to buy at an affordable price and maybe live with it "as-is",
just repairing the "little wiring" issue, getting power to the coil.
.
Thanks for your thoughts, Marty.

So what does a respectable interior cost these days?

When I read crap like this, I wonder what the author imagines our IQs to be.

Look at the fender above the left headlight -- This is the Minnesota that I've known all of my life:

You Gents might enjoy reading about this modern reproduction of a Case 150. It's a huge beast and a remarkable endeavor:

"Ostentatious" comes to mind!
Wonder how much this car weighed, rolling along on bicycle type wire wheels?
Yes to ostentatious. My first thought was bordello-like.

"Desert Beige" is the color. Color stylists have a whole pallet of shades (toners) to experiment with. I like this color more than I might otherwise. I think that it has some amount of yellow in it that makes it a little luminous or somewhat gold-like.

I can't help but wonder how much a Twin City six cylinder 60 - 90 would bring in this day and age. There is only two, or possibly three of them in existence.

I don't care for the red either, but whatever the color, I think that the "sunburst" design is original and desirable:

I know a guy that would be interested in the OD.
If the coupe sells without the OD it will be available.

Baudette is about as far North in Minnesota as one can go......quite a ways from everywhere else in this country. Nothing to a citizen of the north (Keith) though. If I got this one I would immediately delve into Keith’s great videos for some guidance.Ya sure, dontcha know, only Roseau is more "up north". Beyond that, you'ld be known as a Winnipeger.

What would this have had win it when it left the factory, a 361 and 4bbl?

I recall a discussion about them some time ago in which it was claimed that they had been declared illegal in some places because they were capable of confusing the driver enough to cause an accident. Has anyone ever heard anything similar?

so I guess that we've moved beyond Montgomery Ward, huh?

It's sort of strange, but I can't seem to find a copy of the original photo. The Craigs List one has disappeared from age.

Some time has past since we last talked about a beautiful red '38 DeSoto sedan that was first brought to our attention by f.f.jones on Feb 3. Many of us were impressed with it at the time. I wrote to inquire about the overdrive and now, after all this time, someone wrote back to me. Here's a link to the original AACA notice about it:
Here's a copy of the letter I just received:
Hi James,Sorry for the delay, this email slipped through the cracks. This is a running car, but I do not know if the over drive knob works unfortunately. It is untested. I do however have an update for you. We will be putting the DeSoto in the Ritchie Brothers Auction, here in Chilliwack, along with a few other vintage cars. If you'd like to bid on any of them, the auction date is May 24th and 25th and the auction ships world wide. Thanks for your interestMissyHere's a link to the Ritchie Brothers Auction You'll need to search May 24 & 25: -
Those headlights were mounted well before the concept of "integrated design", weren't they ?

I wrote to confirm that it doesn't have an overdrive. Regardless, it's a beauty!

I'm just going to go ahead and say this, I think that the extended length of this body looks somewhat awkward. I'd like to like it, but I just don't.

My first thought upon seeing it was how well-proportioned it is. Here's a pic from Google Images of another one:

I've been puzzling over how one would replace points. It's a neat looking rig, though.

As a kid in the fifties, all of the garages in my neighborhood were clearly built for Model As. This sort of look was common. We used to joke that people bought Hudsons just for the sole purpose of widening their garage doors.
