Really neat car. Someone can correct me but I thought these sedans had a lot of wood in them. It doesnt look too bad on this car and the doors look pretty solid with little or no sag. But 100 year old dry wood may look good but be not so good. Also appears to have been parked beside the chicken coop with the waste being piled against the pass side. Other than some surface mess looks pretty complete. Def a long term project that will cost 3 times what the finished product will be worth but could be a great time consuming hobby for someone.
I talked a someone who was selling a "Leather Back" a couple of years ago. He indicated that it needed wood replacement in the upper rear of the body -- the actual "Blind Back" area.

The thing about this photo is that, to me, it looks like pop rivets and hardware store sheet metal.

I assume that this is modern paint (base coat/clear coat), although I might be wrong. Is everybody OK with that, or does it get dinged for not being original? Of course, it's beautiful...

Wow, that is really "homely/cute" I love it!

It sold for 12,000. A pretty good buy in my eyes. I would have loved to have it my museum, but I am holding out for an 8 cyl. CZ. This car was a C-6.
Thank you!

I don't know enough about these to even enter into a conversation, so I'll just enter the link to the Facebook ad in TX:

Here's a link to an ad on Facebook offering a very complete '29 Ply dash for $200 in ID:

Nice Buick. A person could repaint the dash and do a little selective reupholstering and maybe pop for a renewed steering wheel and still be in great shape.

Do any of you know how much this sold for?

It's crappy in so many ways, but geez that air cleaner is clownish!

I've seen '38 Plymouths called "gangster cars". Stupidity really has no limits.

Yeah, I'm aware of the "Leather Back" model. They are really classy, as well. You'll notice that sides of the cowls, in front of the doors, looks like '30s and '31s on these bodies, despite the fact that they are '29, apparently.

I don't know if anyone restores Model A s that are this needy, but it's a desirable model. Blind back sedans are sort of like close coupled sedans in that the rear quarter windows are missing. Some of us find it a classy look -- even on a Ford.

Wow. That paint job is failing badly beneath the gas cap. I'd be awfully worried about it's life expectancy.

I think someone's wife got to peruse the chip chart and used some liberty:

Nice catch I just messaged him to buy it. Surprising I search facebook around the country every day, but their search feature is terrible and i know I miss alot of stuff. Thanks for reposting this here.
You are so right about their goofy search feature. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out just what words or combination of words will net me results. I thought that in time they would improve, but maybe they just don't car. If I search for "Hudson", I get different results than if I search "Hudson car", and I mean different cars. Then I try "Hudson Commodore" and "Hudson Hornet" (no capitals, of course) and I get different results than I would ever expect. The list of combinations is long, and I never feel as if I'm getting total results..

Can someone tell me what the black coupe in the first photo is? I thought Cadillac at first, from the emblem above the grille, but I don't think that's right. I like that onbe better than the Desoto.
Icky old Nash.

Apparently, Edsel Ford was fond of this style of conveyance. Here's an article on the subject:

Those tires are done, so yes it will have new white walls, Seems alot of Auburns had them when new. I know the problem now is the wheels match the tires which match the body and the contrast in the belt line is very subtle so it almost looks all one color with no contrast at all. I'm seriously thinking of A dark navy blue or maroon on the wheels as you said, then maybe just an outline stripe like on this speedster. Would also love to do Chrome lock rings.
I also have a more correct trunk for the back and sidemount covers for it as well as the correct running board moldings and new correct runningboard Matts.
Yes, and the roof color as well. It's a beautiful car, for certain, but someone was on a monochromatic kick when they planned it.
-
A S, a wheel color might be a great addition to your beautiful Auburn. I'll bet that there are lots of options. First, though, should your car have a contrasting pinstripe? Perhaps on the hood, or surrounding the beltline embellishment? Are the white walls as bright as they can be? That's the trouble with white walls -- they yellow with age.

'34 GM headlights and grilles really showed tasteful streamlined influence. Note the great slant to the beautiful grille. Also, it's hard not to love the detailed artillery wheels. It's neat how much attention was being paid to the dash by '34. It's no longer flat. This one looks like it's in wonderful condition.

I do not believe there is an actual guide / definition for a cars model names. I think it was what ever the manufacturer wanted to call the car model - Victoria, coupe or even 5 passenger sedan. Was there not Victoria name plates that Ford used in the 50s?
Maybe some one here can shed some light on the use the model name Victoria.
Maybe it will remain Victoria's secret!

My initial reaction, probably like many of you, was to see all of that extravagance in the rear and not the front. I think that we are all used to seeing Rolls Royce grilles pasted onto these and to see an otherwise stock front end comes as a surprise.
