  1. Out of curiosity, where is the car, and how much?
  2. Rick, The Mooneyes are good, I believe that is what the aluminum valve covers you have are. Another very good source for anything Nailhead is Centerville Auto Parts Russ martin 503-272-1564 That is who I have used for many items I get for nailheads Be very wary of the "cheap Chinese ebay " They dont always fit right.
  3. Maybe these will help. This really is a wonderful old vehicle
  4. A friend has a 1931 Buick 4 door, Model 57 with 23K original miles. This is an unrestored vehicle, and is a wonderful car. It has been in dry storage most all its life, and the condition of the car shows well. I had a chance to drive it yesterday, and it is as tight and smooth riding as some later model cars. The engine and drive train are smooth and quiet. During our mid day drive, the oil pressure was right up were it should be and the temps never exceeded 145 degrees. The brakes stop the car on a dime. The upholstery has a few moth munches in it from over the years, but is still very nice and comfortable to sit on. The rear windows still have the pull down blinds on them. The steel wire wheels have been repainted, sometime back in the 60s. The original tires that came on the car new, are still with the car, granted they are a bit dry rotted, but they go with the car. Painted a dk blue, with black accent If anyone is interested, I will pass on his name. Pictures will be posted later today. Asking $35k or best offer 319-361-6465
  5. Marty, you may want to post this down in the Riviera section. Probably get a fast response there
  6. I would certainly call it better than a"20 footer" I have seen the car and the attention to detail, and it really is pretty nice. The upholstery in the black and red looks awesome on this black car. If I had the money right now, it would be in my garage Jeff, Do you have any good side shots of the car you can post up?

  9. The upper grill bar on my 46 is ribbed to match the grill
  10. Rick, Is there a sub clause in the 1 car ruling that allows you to go ahead and purchase another car , with the provision that one is for sale? Hmmmm When we established the guidelines for my collecting ventures, my legal counselor established three sub catagories which could be followed in the collecting of wayward Buicks. paragraph 3 section 2 in the bylaws allowed me a purchase with intent to sell. Paragraph 3 section 3.1 allowed for an additional purchase, providing another was placed in the" for sale" catagory Paragraph 3 section 3.2 allowed a trial ownership basis, of no more than 1 year.( I like this one) You will notice all of these provisions allow for additional cars to be brought in, and yet still I could maintain my 3 car limit BTW, My attorney who assisted me with my collection outline IS a car guy and can be of great help in the case of car overage situations Having seen the 75 convertible, this car will be a wonderful addition to anyones collection. It runs out very nice, and drives like a dream.

  19. You'll just need to talk your wife into a bigger garage for the toys. Next time Ricky is in the area, I will have a lift available if you would like one up there
  20. Rick, You can also try Sadler Power train in Cedar Rapids. They did the axle in a 68 Skylark I used to own, and put 3.73s in it. Sadler Power Train 319-366-8238
  21. Why dont you email me, I may have a solution to your problem.
  22. Mike, Have you considered having your bead blasted then repaint them in the correct color? Finding NOS, or painted ones that you can just bolt right on may be difficult, and more than likely the paint isnt going to match, due to age and how they were stored.
