  1. Usually I start it and go without an extended warm up and I travel to work about 55 miles freeway all the way. Talking about NW Missouri(Misery) with temps from 0 to 25 Degrees.
  2. Dealcatcher.com lists a coupon available for Oct 2nd thru Oct 4th for any one item at Harbor Freight 20% off
  3. Last winter I felt my mpg really suffered. I know cold air helps empower combustion, but is there a point where the temp is too cold and actually becomes counter-productive?
  4. I did not replace the upper mounts when I did my struts and had to deal with them soon after. They may be good now but are they going to last another 60k. Also putting on new struts alerted me to realize I had cradle bushing problems. You might take the plastic covers off where the upper strut mounting nut is and put your weight on the fender and see if there is any play around the nut.
  5. Which one should I paint mine as after I install the 2.8 motor from my blazer?
  6. Any recommendations for a premium wire set and what do you feel about the rear plug insulators yea or nay. Mine are long gone. Thank You
  7. Ebay #350216981655 in the additional buy it now section. No more excuses!
  8. I second the Duragloss products. I got into a forum where the two major products talked about were Zaino and Duragloss. Zaino was tops but the Duragloss which really popped on my red car is only $10.00. I will also say that I used a clay bar for the first time and was totally impressed !!!!! To feel the contamination lift and the clay glide smoothly sold me.
  9. Jim Finn in Duluth has amassed a large amount of used reatta parts. Last year I drove there and got a windshield for $400 (price then),and he has mailed or shipped various parts at a great savings. He has a thread down the current page" Reatta Parts" stating he will be traveling for a week but if you need contact info its on his message page.
  10. Remove the passenger seat, the spare tire, bust out the rear window- lighten the load.
  11. Was your magnet totally gone or in pieces? And if done did you remove the water pump. Thank You
  12. The esteemed Padgett's home page www.6007.com has the write up on replacing the magnet- Ronnie's website I think also has it. The search would want 041 or cam sensor. I am currently working on the same but the car still runs great.
  13. What is the suggested method to hold the harmonic balancer to get the installed balancer bolt to the high torque value? I have used a strap before. Thank You.
  14. I am in an unprecedented six months of no issues. All pully noises are gone, body squeaks have disappeared. It is running smooth, minimal oil use,and averaging an honest 25mpg.It's also killing me because I want a convertible when this one wears out-Might be awhile.
  15. I had a mysterious miss and worked on it til I gave up on it and took it to a repair shop. The shop is good but they were baffled and suggested replacing the computer-which did not solve it. I had the battery and alternator checked out and they checked ok. I took the alternator in for a second time and it was tested and shown good on the tester. I said run it one more time and it failed! Replaced alternator and all is good.

    what a mess

There probably isn't a top to put up. The bubble wrap gives the impression the seats are being protected instead of just hiding uber thrashed seats.Own your own legacy of hurricane (fill in the blank).
  17. I ordered the carpet thru carmotorsport
  18. On the rear deck there was also the rear cupped curve that would require extra work. The Jim Finn deck and my latches was the ticket for me. The deck from Jim was cheap(I mean inexpensive) and the shipping was minimal- this coming from a frugal guy. Now that I think about it my solution was probably alot less than ordering the extra carpet to do the deck.
  19. I forgot what the hammer was for
  20. I did the Carmotorsport thing but when it came to the back deck I just got the deck in the color I wanted from Jim Finn and saved alot of grief. Jim had a deck in the tan that does not turn pink, it was in great condition and was very cheap.
  21. When I was looking for a unique car about five years ago I first looked towards the Allante but found the prices too high, then I found the Reatta's. Yesterday I looked at the Allante's on Ebay and it looks like the prices on them have tanked especially since they are convertibles.
  22. I ordered all the stuff in December from GM Parts Direct and the bolt number is 15677731. The top of the bolt has D 10.9

    top pin

Don't go over railroad tracks!....sorry.Padgett on one of your prior threads you mentioned how the coupe is a superior long distance vehicle vs a convertible. I was thinking about a convertible but it would be a daily driver with a 100 mile commute which is currently done in a coupe.Besides the cowl shake and pins popping out what other negatives do you encounter? Thank you
  24. Rockauto.com is great. Easiest online catalog to navigate and rock bottom prices. One has to take in consideration the low price vs shipping weight cost. For a brake job the brake pads will be a great value but the rotors would be better off bought locally.
