Graham Man
I have a friend working on his 1933 Graham engine. When he was fixing a valve he noticed the cam bearing had spun and walked. This is a valve in head 8. A couple questions... 1. The bearings looks like a thin wall brass/bronze bushing. (see attached) 2. The bearings looks like they need to be pressed? 3. Should the block be align bored, and then the bearings align bored? 4. Mostly looking for direction... Thank you
cahartley
A decent machinist can make it. He'll need an accurate dimension of the hole it presses into to know what the finished bore needs to be.

Graham Man
Any suggestions for shops in the Midwest?
Curti
Good machinists typically are not engine builders, and Good engine builders are not necessarily good machinists. I have a friend in Cleveland that fills both shoes. If you are not in a hurry he may be able to help you.
C Carl
See if there is a shop near you which rebuilds hydraulic cylinders. I have had them do similar precision work for me. They can also cut lube channels if it would help. Nothing like those inside and outside grinders for close tolerance work. Oh yeah : Use synthetic oil and grease in your cars. - Carl
