27donb
I ordered an exhaust system for my 24-45 6 cylinder 255 Cid, and I need help from someone with a stock Buick of the same year and model. What is the stock od size of the head pipe and the tailpipe?

27donb
Thank you Hugh. Another question, I am trying to mock up my exhaust system without the exhaust valve to pre heat the carburetor in place, because I don't have that valve. Can anyone with a correct 24 Buick 6 cylinder give me this dimension? I just need the dimension of the exhaust valve flange to flange, so I can make sure my headpipe is down far enough from the exhaust manifold flange. I believe the exhaust system valve for 27 is 3", but I need to be sure for the 24.
dibarlaw
Don I would love to help but the manifolds were missing from my spare 24 engine. I see that 1924 #169989 and 1925 #187678 are different. My 1925 is 3 1/8" long. And the 1925 Standard is 3" So they should be close to work something up. Larry
ROD W
Don. It is 4" from flange to flange on a 24 six cylinder engine I have.
Terry Wiegand
Don, the exhaust manifold in the photo that you posted for reference looks like my 1920 with the single tube running to the carburetor heat chamber. My 1922 has two tubes and the exhaust diverter housing is functional on the engine. Terry Wiegand South Hutchinson, Kansas

Thank you, I was hoping the actual original valve was more than 3". The lower I can get my headpipe, the better it will fit. Right now at about 3 1/2 ", the headpipe still hits the motor mount area.
