hub puller

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all, I am trying to get the rear wheel/hub assembly off of my 1926 Paige Model 6-72.  I need a hub puller.  I can not do the rear wheel cylinders without the hubs off the car.  The car has a Salisbury differential in it.  Which I am not familiar with.  Can I use an axle knocker?   Some differentials you can not use a knocker.   The Paige is not running so I can not go and do figure 8's with the axle nut loose. Any suggestions.  Will someone loan me a  puller?  Kirk

You'll need to give us a picture for best help. There are several types of puller that may be able to be used.

What is an "axle knocker"? If you mean some kind of hammer to pound the end of the axle, best to think hard about whether you are smashing the wheel bearings when you hit the end of the axle. That is where the force will be resisted. I would NOT.

Kirk, in what general area are you located?  Someone could probably loan you one if they know generally where you are.
