bob duffer
I was wondering what fog lights are the correct for the 34 model 57 . I have talked to a couple people and get different answers. Mine are aftermarket right now andi would like to put the right ones on there. FLYER15015
Bob, I would vote for the Trppe Seniors, but you may want to contact OCM (Sandy) and look at his '33's. Mike in colorado
Guest outlaw car man
I used Appleton Lorraine on my 33
50jetback
Trippe look better on the pre 1930's cars. Like outlaw I used Appleton Lorrain when I restored my 1934.
FLYER15015
Bob, I found a pair of six inch "Guide" fog lights for mine on evilbay a couple of years ago, and they came in the original box packed in sawdust. Mart S
The '34 Buick front end is very elegant looking. While I like fog lights, I love the look of my '34 without them. I also don't put a front license plate on my car because I think it looks better without it (even though they are required in Illinois where I live). I also have rarely driven my car at night so I don't need them to improve seeing, or being seen after dark. Just my 2 bits and I like the look of '34 and '35 Buicks (and other years too) with or without fog lights.
Marty Roth
My (former) 1934 Model 57 came with Guide. I've seen others with Trippe, and I guess the dealer sold whatever gave him the most profit. Since "GUIDE" is, and was, an integral part of GM, I would assume that to be "Correct" - and that Trippe may have been Dealer-installed, but I have to question weather they would have been "Factory Authorized" Just my opinion - not a criticism. In the photos, the 1934 Buick has Guides, and the 1937 Buick has Trippes. Click on the photos to enlarge for better detail. The choice is yours..... Marty Roth
Thanks Bob, I got it in 2009 with less than 8,000 miles as NYC Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia's Parade Car. It is all original, but maintenance items have been done (tires, brakes, belts, wipers, hoses, etc.). The upholstery and top are original, and the paint has a few minor touch-ups. We now have about 13-14K miles and she drives "Like a Roadmaster".
